Vick with no turnovers and a pretty nice game. I wonder if we'll hear about that this week. If the Eagles had lost, I don't think there was any way you could reasonably blame him. Steelers next week with Harrison, Polamalu and Mendenhall likely back. Youch!
Just heard somebody say the following: The Eagles are 3-1 and they have won those 3 by a combined 4 points. Still can't believe that kick was short. I thought it was in when watching live. lol
Sometimes better to be lucky than good(?), ha. W 17-16 Browns W 24-23 Ravens L 27-6 Cardinals W 19-17 Giants 3 wins, 4 points, an ass-kicking by the Cardinals. So apparently they win close or lose big. Upcoming games: @Steelers(1-2) vs Lions(1-3) Bye vs Falcons(4-0) @Saints(0-4) . . . . . . Giants 0-2 in the division. Coughlin: Not a lot to say about this one. Put ourselves in position to win and didn't get it done. Gave up a lot of yards rushing. Had trouble running ourselves. Made some plays as we came through the 2nd half but not enough. We were in FG range. Went for long FG and a little bit too long. We played hard. Thought we would do damage on KR and we did. You'd think we'd have more points with that good field position. We had chances to win and we didn't win it. Feel bad for the players. They worked and played hard, but not always smart. We did have some holding penalties in the first half and we'll have to look at that. Upcoming games: vs Browns(0-4) @49ers(3-1) vs Redskins(2-2) @Cowboys(2-1) vs Steelers(1-2)
Why is it that when the Eagles do this they are not thought of as clutch but lucky? If the Giants would have pulled this out they wouldn't be referred to as lucky. I'm waiting on the ticket prices to drop on that Saints game.
I dont understand why they didnt run the ball, instead of passing the ball in the play when Barden did the offensive PI. they already have a 44 yard FG, and it was 2nd down, and still plenty of time to run that play, and then spike the ball to stop the clock, and let the kicker in, dumb playcalling from Tom Coughlin.
I agree that people say: Eli is soo clutch, but when other teams win, they are lucky, If Eli would have won they would have say he is clutch, instead of lucky.
By my last count: Vick has played just 10 more games than Manning. Manning has 22 fourth quarter comebacks and Vick has 14. It's not like Vick just fails in the clutch all the time. I guess Manning does have it in the biggest game, twice but that shouldn't take away from other teams being or not being clutch. I'm not specifically talking about the Eagles either but the Giants. They seem to get that clutch label over others.
Ahh no disrespect meant here, although I don't really like Philly(sports teams). All the credit to Philly. They won those games, found a way to win those games, W goes in the book, and that's that. Call it clutch, call it luck, call it whatever, I guess as long as you're winning and keep winning, you'll take it every time.
To Eli's credit.. he earned that respect, Eli has a sick postseason resume but Collinsworth announcing was awful
