A guy walks into a bar, sits down on a bar stool.
The bartender asks him "what'll ya have, pal?".
The guy responds, I'll have a Bud.
Bartender gets the drink at which time the guy starts drinking, but he remembers he has no money to pay up.
The bartender, seeing the guy is wearing a Houston Rockets cap, says "Tell ya what, I see you're a fan of my favorite team, so if you can answer my question, the beer is on me".
The guy agrees and the bartender poses the following question :

"Name all the players last season that averaged over 5 pts per game, had over 5 assists per game, over 4 rebs per game and over 0.2 steals per game."

The guy responded with "What? That's crazy! There must be a million of them! What do I look like? A freakin' statistical database?"

The bartender ripped the hat off the guy, looked at him and said, "You can have the beer, but I'm keeping the hat, not because you can't pay for the beer, but because no, there aren't a million of them. There're only a handful. You must be one of those guys on ClutchCity.Net that is always looking for the easily obtainable 20 pts, 10 reb, 10 assists guy and haven't realized that they just don't exist".

Ok, how about you guys out there in CC.NET land?
It's easy to look the answer up, but the challenge is to come up with as many as you can off the top of your head. FYI, there were probably 2 that I never would've guessed. And, no, I'm not telling you how many there are. Let's just say there's less than 8.

If no one's nailed all of them within a day or so, I'll go ahead and post the answer. For all those looking it up, this should be easy... [IMG]

Oh, and here's another hint... this thread is definitely not off-topic. [IMG]

AxSomebody wins a free supply of air for the rest his life (please breathe at your convenience to collect, Ax).

There were only 6... that kinda puts our boy Steve in fairly elite company in only his 1st season.

    Oatdog,

Were you Oakdog? Got the database, but I'm working on a sorta bigger project at the moment -- the GTE/Bell Atlantic/PrimeCo/AirTouch merger. [IMG] I expect to have something hopefully interesting up during the season, though, time permitting.

    Bobo,
Garnett and Quitten had roughly 4.95 (no rounding allowed... [IMG])

hey dr., would this merger perhaps, uh, maybe, elevate the stock standings of the companies involved? just curios, you know.

    ------------------
Starting at shortstop, for the Houston Astros, Nomar Garciaparra.
    or
Starting at First Base, for the Boston Red Sox, Jeff Bagwell!!!

    No More,

The merger has been well-known for a long time... Verizon is the company that resulted after the merger of those other giants. The only thing we're working on is integration of various sub-systems across the nation so they can talk together. If that doesn't work, then Verizon gets slammed for a buncha bucks daily. If you have GTE telephone service, you probably already see a Verizon sticker on your bill envelopes. If you go to PrimeCo's cellular site, you will be directed to a Verizon site.

    Etc, etc, etc.

    Dr.,

Where are your priorities? You need to stop with that job stuff and get that d/b on the web for those of us who like stats!

BTW, I was oakdogg. I forgot the p/w for oak and he was registered under an email acct. that had since closed, so I just re-registered with a new name. The names are similar enough I'm sure most people make the connection.
