Not so fast. Try looking at the official A&M website. In it states that he may be related:

    Bottom Setion Under "Personal"

Why is the fact that he's a basketball player important?

I really hope you are kidding, but for some reason I do not believe you are. I cannot believe myself or anyone would have to actually explain this to you, but in the event you need it to be laid out for you, I will.

Is it a bigger deal when Scottie Pippen gets a DWI, Daryl Strawberry or Michael Irvin gets caught with cocaine or another player hits his wife as opposed to you?

He is in a higher profile person than the average student, he was selected by the coaching staff to represent the university. He is in the public eye when you or the average student is not, thus held somewhat to a higher standard. That is the very reason coaches tend to be selective with the players they choose.

Though it is not right for anyone to do what he did, he held to a higher standard than the general student population.

Since he was an agricultural development major, maybe he was just trying to grow bigger onions, or does steroids give you smaller onions?

    LMAO!!!

How true. They did not want to limit the onion program to the 10-15 onions. Reading his bio is quite entertaining, especially in hindsight:

    No.... REALLY?!?!?

From the Brian Bosworth documentary: "Incredible Shrinking Man"

Yeah, you're right, athletes are held to a higher standard than other students or citizens. Though I don't believe it should be that way, it is.

However, too be honest, I'm not really sure what the point of this thread is. Drugs are a problem at most campuses across the country, and a lot of people out there take steroids. To come in and condemn a school because someone got caught is kind of ridiculous.

I have no personal qualms with A&M, as I said I am married to an alum, and have a brother who went there for two years (then transferred to UT :D ) .

I stated quite clearly that I think there are steroids used in the UT program as well as (likely) 95% of all other programs in the country.

Point of the thread... let me put it this way, had it been a UT player in the same situation, I would have fully expected Refman, yourself, Oski (...well maybe not him, he did not strike me as the type who knows how to debate an issue) or any other A&M fan / alum, to come and say things about Texas.

Its the nature of the rivalry. I would take no offense nor did I take any to Refman referring to my roommate / lover as "princess";). I think its a terrible situation, I think Slocum is an idiot, but I do not in any way feel it represents what the A&M program stands for or accepts.... It just reaffirms that I think you guys are a bunch of cheaters....j/k
