Why are they not punting on 4th and 8, at midfield with home field advantage, and 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter down 8 points?

A little vexed they decided to punt on 4th and 1 and then go for it on that 4th and long.

Offense shat the bed last week, defense shat the bed this week. Gonna have to put together a complete game eventually.

There has been improvement. But that aint saying much. Still time to win this one. I felt this was a lot closer to what we should look like minus the penalties and fumbles. I hope Piland learns how to set his feet for a throw. Left some opportunities to score out there because of poor foortwork and throws. General improvement though. Young team. Learning.

14 penalties for 129 yards, 2 turnovers and several more fumbles recovered or overturned. That's just inexcusable.

    But at least they're battlefighting.

Levine is going to have a very short career; the defense is inexcusable.

Tough loss. Good that the offense got it together... Defense was MIA.

I know Sonny Dykes just signed a contract extension but is there any way we can steal him away from LA Tech??

No one, the only thing worse than a lack of talent is a lack of leadership. At this point you worry more about scaring away recruits and future hires than you do about pissing off fans. And that's assuming you have the discretionary funds to even make a second six-figured salary change for the same promotional, recreational support staff position in the same year at your publicly accountable non-profit organization.

But when was the last time the defense was good? For as long as I can remember, UH has won games by just putting up huge numbers on offense.

Keenum covered a lot for the defense by scoring on almost every drive. When your defense is as bad as UH, the offense better be good or else you're screwed. UH is in for a long season.

The switch from 3-4 to 4-3 was stupid, not sure if that is on Levine or Bryant. though. But you're right, we need to control the clock and capitalize on turnovers when teams start pressing to score to catch up to us. That just simply hasn't happened so far this year. Like I said, it's been two games where the offense and defense didn't show up, respectively. La Tech is has a good to great offense, so I was expecting 30+ put on us, but 50+? Not gonna cut it.
