Drew/Rogers for Nesby works capwise. Maybe add a future 1st rounder too. Clippers have Odom and Maggette at SF. Miles and Richardson at SG. But they have only one PG - rookie Keyon Dooling. Bryce at least has some NBA experience at playing point. The Clips are also thin at PF so Carlos can get some quality minutes there. Rudy has said he likes Nesby, who is young and athletic. He would fit in great with this team and could make Walt expendable. I think this trade helps both franchises.
I like Nesby too, but he is way too short to play SF. ------------------ "The world is full of kings and queens who blind your eyes and steal your dreams. It´s Heaven and Hell!"
First of all, Nesby is listed at 6-8. Also, the Clippers have Jeff McInnis as Dooling's backup at PG. McInnis beat out Moochie for CBA MVP last season. ------------------
BimaThug, Nesby is 6'6" in heels. He's shorter than NBA.com lists him at, which is 6'6" ------------------ Don't anybody ever suggest again that we sign Tracy Murray to a deal.
Tyrone Nesby would be a nice pick up and is either behind Lamar and competing with Miles at the 3 or behind Q and struggling with Maggette and Piatkowsi for minutes at the 2. I have several observations on such an aquisition: 1) Nesby is 6'6" on the Clips home page. Probably another "tweener" and we are already strugging with getting Langhi minutes when Shandon goes to the 3. Nesby's 3pt% leaves alot to be desired. Is it worth robbing Langhi of valuable PT? Small plus side might be Steve, SA, and Ty on the floor at the same time which may create matchup problems for some teams. 2) The Clips are ultra-cheap and already have 13 players under contract. IMHO there is not enough upside for them to go to 14 by adding Drew and 'Los. 3) The Clips weakest spot is PF. IMHO, the Rocket they would most covet would be KT. KT & Drew for Nesby would be a tough decision for Rudy as he really likes likes KT's game. It probably would not fly without Nesby AND a pick. The Clips have talent, but don't see them jelling in 1 season - too much youth. If they would part with a 1st round pick and Nesby, it might be tempting. You got 'Los and Collier backing up MO. The Rocks are still a 6 seed at best and lottery at worst. Why not wait for Terence Morris or Battier. ------------------ GATER [This message has been edited by GATER (edited September 20, 2000).]
No way would i give up KT for Nesby. KT's gonna be a bigger factor next year than some people think IMO. ------------------
