I started tweeting Rockets, Texans, and even some local sports radio guys and managed to get a few retweets. Hopefully this thing gains momentum so Vance can get the help he deserves!

Tweeting it out there too. I hope word gets out there and spreads like wildfire. Best of luck!

I've been tweeting to Houston news stations. Hopefully the Rockets organization will find out about this somehow. That would be HUGE

Well the best idea would be to target everyone in the world but I was trying to nail down a small group of people that everyone could conceivably have the time to tweet and who are also they most likely to care about the situation.

The fact that he is a board member that was willing to ask for help is the difference between him and every other unlucky soul in the world right now with debilitating health ailments. But to someone outside of Houston or unaware of Clutchfans....it's just not that unique of a situation. That's why I narrowed it.

Matt Bullard just retweeted it! Now we might get some casual Rockets fans!

I got Scott Machado to RT it. I included the YouTube video in the tweet but of course forgot the damn link to the donations.

Has your friend tried GP Contact lenses? They are usually the first medical decices used to improve visual acuity in Keraticonus.

To add to my above post. They would also be medically necessary so most insurances would cover them.

Yes twice, but because of the condition of his eyes (pain, irritation & light) he couldn't wear them the first time.. went to another specialist, tried them again and it actually further damaged hid left eye.. the picture in on the donation page is how his eye looks all the time now.

HenMild to moderate stages of Keratoconus, vision can be corrected easily w/ GP lenses. The problem is that the contacts don't hault the progression of the disease. As Keratoconus progresses, the shape of the cornea constantly changes, which makes it harder and harder to get the right fittings for them. His most recent visit was with a specialist at Houston Eye Associates, where he was told he'd need surgery. Definitely in the left eye, with the right soon to follow.

Have you tried the Cornea and Contact Lens specialty Clinic at University of Houston College of Optometry?

Great Place to get some help.

Yes, but it's gotten past the point where he'd be able to wear a contact. Thanks Scottie

I feel you, but in this case it is better to tweet multiple NBA players instead of narrowing it down to the Rockets. These guys have millions of followers and are dedicated to things like these. Every dollar matters.

Not to be an ass (and I've already donated), but maybe you could hit up your ex with the $460,000 y'all won?

and possibly you shouldn't be spending money on music cd's when people are donating their hard earned money to you:

@5StarBeats4Sale I'm about to purchase some now... very talented sir! #salute #nowfollowing

Perhaps you could have offered donors free tickets to the warehouse live concert you will be working at Sept 23 according to your twitter page. Or maybe you could use the concert as a fundraiser itself.

I understand more than most people that good times can turn into bad. But with that being said, when you turn to others for help, perhaps being more forthcoming about why you are in such a tough spot would gain a bit more sympathy considering you won so much money 3 years ago.

Is this the reason the thread in the GARM got deleted?
