Are You Concerned About Steve & Cat's Heavy Minutes?

GREAT GAME, GREAT WIN, & THE BEGINNING OF THE RENAISSANCE OF ROCKETS BASKETBALL ON A NATIONAL STAGE:)

But I have concerns: Steve and Cat logged something like 49 and 50 minutes, and are playing heavy minutes game in and game out. Don't get me wrong, there's no way we beat the Fakers, or most other good teams, without those minutes. 73 of our 106 points...and on a night when few others contributed offensively.

That being said, those guys are gonna wear down over a long season. It has become apparent to most on the bbs, and now to Rudy, that Moochie is a liability, even when he rests our starting guards for brief periods of time. His PT is way down, and we're seeing the dreaded 3 guard offense less and less (thank G--). I think we are vulnerable.

We need a better third guard for the long haul. I don't know if Posey can really play the two, and I would assume Maddox just isn't ready yet. I know Cat can play point and rest Steve, but I'd love to pick up a veteran savvy guard who can play the 1 or 2 for the stretch run. Even Avery Johnson would be an upgrade.

    Thoughts??

I am a little concerned, but I think if anybody can handle it, it's Steve and Cat. I mean have you ever seen Steve or Cat even breathing heavy, I haven't.

I'm not concerned, but I would like to see Hawkins play the 2 for 8-10 min a game.

I'm worried a little, but they have to play those minuets. The offense doesn't do anything when the two aren't playing.

I think if Nachbar had been fit and healthy and was productive as a SF then Posey could move to the 2 guard spot to give Cat a rest. Moochie has to play better so Francis doesn't have to log such heavy minutes but that's not likely which is unfortunate.

What was wrong with the member deciding to use all Caps? It was his choice! Why would Clutch be concerned?

The rest of the Team doesn't do much even when they are playing, especially when the Francis/Mobley Show takes over. Moochie is quite inadequate at stimulating the back-up players.

I don't have a problem with it. Stevie is an all-star. Move Kobe and Finley over to the East and Cuttino would be an all-star as well. Steve is one of two players averaging over 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists a game. Without all those minutes, he wouldn't be near that, Stevie (and Cat) are our Franchise, Yao is our Dynasty. Let's leave it that way.

My question is: Why doesn't Jaquine Hawkins play more? Before Posey came, he's our best off-guard defender. Even though he's a rookie, he is also 29 years of age and has played a many of players all over the world. When Hawkins is in, he contributes 2 or 3 points a game also. Which is most of the games, is more then Moochie contributes defense and scoring-wise.

Both Cat and Steve should be playing fewer minutes...period. If Moochie will stop dribbling so much learn to pass quickly and often, he would be perfect for taking up two to five minutes per quarter (depending on the opponent). If Mooch can't do it, perhaps Tito Maddox can.

The same is true for Hawkins giving the Cat a few minutes off per quarter. Posey needs to get his rest too, only he should be spelled by Rice (when healthy) or Nachbar (when ready) or T-Mo in the interim.
