The Rockets have a couple of underpaid players. Some of the underpaid players on the Rockets that I can think of is Steve Francis, Moochie Norris, Shandon Anderson and Maurice Taylor. Here is why I think each is underpaid:
MOOCHIE NORRIS-a great back point guard he always plays his best and he will really step up his game if Francis is injured.
SHANDON ANDERSON-he plays an all-round game he does everything that is asked of him. He can rebound, score, steal and he plays great defense. He only makes 2 million a year.
STEVE FRANCIS-the team leader, rookie of the year and a franchise player. He is definetly underpaid. He only makes 4 millon a year. He does everything the coach wants him to do he isn't a ballhog like Allen Iverson. He always tries to get his teammates involved in the offense. He is a great team leader He lead the team in points, steals and assist.
MAURICE TAYLOR-he will be looking for a big salary after the upcoming season. He will only make 2.25 million this year. He has lots of talent, low cost and he can grow with this young team.
How do you guys think is the most underpaid Rocket?

"You look a team that's been to the mountaintop like the Houston Rockets, I'm going to put pressure on myself to be the best possible player that I can be. With the pieces they already have in place and myself, we can do some amazing things next season."

I like Mooch just as much as anybody, but I seriously doubt he could "step up his game if Francis is injured". He is the perfect back up, but not a good starter, IMO.

He's a change of pace guy who can abuse other back up PGs when they're in the game.

Sam Cassell, who really was a starter, but just played behind Kenny who ran the offense better, and Drew (we'll have to see) has played better as a starter and very poorly as a back up. Mooch isn't like these players.

Its kinda hard to say a rookie is underpaid ...

And 4 mil is not too shabby for a rookie ...

IMO it is VERY CLEARLY Dan Langhi! He'll make only about 25% of what the next nearest player on the team makes next year. Plus he is gonna be a contributor (unlike some of the other overpaid stiffs at the end of our bench). Heck wouldn't it be a good problem for the "average joe" to have making only $2,000,000 next year and being considered dramatically underpaid.

    Swammi,
I did not list Dan Langhi amoung the most underpaid Rockets because I never see him play an NBA game yet. He impressed me in the summer league with his outside shooting, athleticism and his ability to beat his man off the dribble. But as I stated before I've never seen Dan Langhi play an NBA game so I don't know how good he really is at NBA level. Remember the summer league level of competition is different to the NBA level of competition.

For all the grunt he does without getting mad at things. All the rebounding, guarding the top SG's and SF's in the league. All that and playing every game this past season. SHANDON ANDERSON!!! is underpaid. Hopefully that will be solved at the end of this season. Unless Maurice does a complete 360 turn with his hustle and rebounding, no one else is underpaid. IMHO.

I totally agree. Shandon Anderson is the most underpaid player on the Rockets squad. He does it all; whatever the club needs that particular night, he brings it. NO question about it.

I would say Stevie is 2nd. I know he was just a rookie last year, but come on. This guy should be getting the max and that is scary considering he already makes 4 million. I think you could start another thread with the subject of who is the best deal for the money. I would have to put Franchise up at least close to the top.
