Been having a high fever for 3 days and can barely get out of bed which makes it even worse. The doctor isn't 100 percent sure its West Nile but he's 90 percent sure since I don't have typical flu symptoms. No reason to get tested because there is no treatment and by the time I get the results it should be gone. Plus the most accurate test is a spinal tap. This is when it sucks being Asian. Mosquito magnet.

Texas has the highest incidence of West Nile and we're more than half the deaths in the US from West Nile... Granted, there are only a little under 700 cases this year, it's a lot. I've only heard it being a big problem in the Dallas area. No need to panic, just a pain in the butt. Go to the ER if you get an altered mental status
I imagine most cases are unreported because getting tested is a pain literally or the symptoms go away quickly enough where they don't even go to the doctor.
Houston has much more sophisticated mosquito fighting techniques that Dallas. That's why Dallas is getting clobbered this year from West Nile and in Houston it hasn't been a problem.
