how gigantically stupid is it to perform on a television broadcast from LA when you're ordered to stay in georgia?

Bobby Brown Begins Jail Sentence in Georgia
Singer Turned Himself In After Violating Bond

    UPDATED: 3:14 p.m. EST January 17, 2003

DECATUR, Ga. -- Singer Bobby Brown began serving an eight-day jail sentence after surrendering Friday in DeKalb County, Ga., to satisfy an arrest warrant.

State Court Judge Wayne M. Purdom issued the bench warrant, ruling that the embattled entertainer violated his bond when he performed earlier this week on the American Music Awards.

Brown, the 33-year-old husband of pop diva Whitney Houston, also allegedly missed his weekly appointment to report to a court bailiff hours before Monday night's awards show.

Brown was arrested in April 1996 by an officer who said his red Mercedes-Benz was driving erratically. The singer was charged with drunken driving, speeding, no proof of insurance and failure to maintain a lane.

Brown failed to show up for a 1997 court date to answer those charges. DeKalb officials revived the case when the entertainer was arrested in Atlanta last Nov. 7 and charged with speeding, no proof of insurance, driving without a license and possession of an ounce or less of mar1juana.

For violating the terms of the bond, Brown was ordered by the judge to immediately begin serving an eight-day jail sentence. He must also complete 240 hours of community service and pay a $2,000 fine and plus $800 in court costs

I thought that at first too, and then I thought....

what has he done lately? NOTHING.

If this is an effort to jumpstart his career and get his name back out in the public eye, eight days in the can and under three grand in fines is not much of a price.

And being an entertainer, he can probably parlay the community service into futher promos.
