I've been a huge Morey fan but lately I lost my faith in what he's doing. What he's doing is just trading and trading and trading. This guy doesn't have a plan. Everyone here is saying he won every single deal, yet we're stuck at the 14th pick for 3 consecutive years. You can argue that he's collecting assets to acquire a big name but his plan never works because he overvalued his assets. A bunch of mediocre talent for a superstar is just not an appealing trade offer to the other teams. He should've gone full rebuild mode. Look at how the Knicks and the Clippers got Anthony and Paul: Gallinari(6th pick in 2008) and Gordon(7th pick in 2008) were vital pieces in their acquisitions. If we tanked when Yao went down, we could have gotten some more appealing assets to make a deal, instead we wasted 3 entire seasons...

Last time our checked our package for Dwight was many times over better than what Orlando received. Nba.com seemed to agree too.

No reason to start a new thread, especially when this team finally changed directions drastically. It may not have been the direction we ideally want, but the "every year is the same" argument is not valid right now. If we do end up with the 14th pick, then that would probably be a really good thing, given the youth of this team.

yet if we end up with the #1 pick, that's also a really good thing, right?

guess morey is in a no-lose situation! every gm should run their teams like this! all hail marry

It's not our fault we didn't get Dwight, but rather that the Orlando GM is a douche bag?

I like what Morey is doing. I want to be either one of the top 5 teams in the league or the worst team. Mediocrity is not acceptable to me.

They are just so called "experts", not real basketball executives. The fact is that Rob Hennigan turned up his nose at our mediocre assets.

it's not morey's fault that we didn't win the last 5 championships, it's the players faults for not playing better.

That is your opinion. You don't know that for a fact.

and it's just your (or their) opinion(s) that morey was offering a better package. you don't even know what the hell he offered.

bottom line is, orlando didn't think it was the best offer. that is literally all that matters. morey lost.

blame les for not wanting to tank. i agree that we shouldve, at it was a wasted 3 years.

i believe this year we are in rebuild mode, or tank mode if you'd rather call it that. i don't see how you don't see that plan.

That's an obvious fact. Hennigan preferred that offer over ours.

They didn't think it was the best offer for them going forward, doesn't mean that the assets are mediocre
