I was just about to post this!! There's been a lot of talk about this lately, and I wasn't sure if it would really happen!! I am going to make it to one of these shows!!! WOW!!! Tim and Greg Howard have planned some touring for 2003, so I pretty much ruled out any Dave and Tim tours for this year . . . this is HUGE!!
This won't rule out a full band tour this summer will it? Argh, I better get tickets. My parents will be living about 45 minutes from Kenosha at that time!!!
That's it, you're going down next time I visit my sister out in Santa Cruz. Of course, you do live in Frisco, I bet you get that a lot.
Nice one. I'll only say that I do get a lot. Does your sister play hacky sack (sp?) and/or earn money by playing really horrible street music like everyone else in Satan Cruz?
Nope -- word is that the band will be touring again this summer, but it'll be a shorter tour than usual with most of the big stops, but fewer of the smaller ones (like Kansas). It's supposedly going to begin with some stadium shows, then move on down the line. I imagine the band will be in Houston late May early June again. I think Boyd is going to do his solo tour after that, but I could be wrong.
So, when are you guys going to admit that I was right about "Busted Stuff" being DMB's worst selling major studio CD?? "Where Are You Going?" barely made it into the top 40 of billboard's radio chart, and "Grey Street" is doing nothing on radio right now. Currently the album sits at #100 on the Billboard 200 albums chart...
I believe the bet was it wouldn't sell as much as "Everyday," which would make it the worst selling major studio CD by DMB. I think we were essentially going by the platinum certifications as a judgement. "Everyday" is 3x platinum while "Busted Stuff" is 2x platinum (even though it hasn't sold 2 million, 2x platinum means they shipped 2 million CDs to the stores). Right now if I had to guess I'd say "Busted Stuff" has probably sold between 1.5-1.8 million copies, but right now its #100 on the albums charts which probably meant it sold 10,000 copies last week. They recently released "Grey Street" as a single, but its getting almost no promotion and they released the dreaded live concert footage for the video, which means it won't make much of a splash either.
We never did set a timetable on this though -- BS hasn't been out for as long as Everyday was when we made that bet . . .
I think its obvious that Busted Stuff won't sell as well as Everyday. All three of the radio singles have tanked, with only "Where Are You Going?" getting any type of real airplay. When would you agree that its obvious Busted Stuff wont sell as much as Everyday?
I just requested my maximum. Two seats for the New York City, Kenosha, West Lafayette, Boone and Winston-Salem shows. Luckily I have another friend in the Warehouse who can't go to any who's going to put in some requests for me!
Regardless of record sales, Busted Stuff is by far the superior album. It is either my favorite or second favorite DMB studio CD. I wont be able to make it to any of these shows(Too far away)...I'm really hoping that the band/Dave/Dave+Tim goes on tour this summer with at least two stops in Texas.
They are touring: http://www.billboard.com/billboard/daily/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1797989
Confirmed!!! We're goin' to Boone, NC!!!! Vengeance, did you get your's? If not, let me know which one's you wanted, I may be getting rid of my second show!
