thunder and heat will be 'championship' good for the next 3-5 years. another team or two will overachieve and make good runs during that span to make things interesting.

the lakers will be toast once kobe is done. and that could be soon. he's kobe, but his age is starting to show. i give them two seasons - tops. and this dwight howard thing is almost like they have too much firepower for it to work.

after all that happens? morey will have us in a good spot. instead of holding it together to HOPE we could put together a serious run during this next 3-5 years, we're going to be head of the class for the next generation. dont blame morey - blame the untimely injuries to yao and tmac. that was our chance. blame lebron and the resulting domino effect on today's nba prima donnas.

i am totally confident that morey will continue to make great moves and get us ready to capitalize when the right opportunity is available.

Morey never closes deals cuz GMs and pkayers hate his ass.

He didn't trade Dalembert to move up to 12th, didn't get the 18th for Budinger, didn't get a lotto pick for Lowry, didn't sign Lin, didn't sign Asik, didn't work out sign and trade deals for Lee and Camby.

Nobody deals with Morey at all.

There is no mystery to this.

Dwight Howard said trade me to LA. Orlando had to deal with that as a starting point. The rumors that the Rockets were in it for Bynum were because everyone knew that Dwight was going to LA. I'm not saying that Orlando couldn't have worked something better with the Rockets but Dwight made it hard and it was his show.

Martin wasn't mentioned at all or did I miss something in that Feigen piece?

Fact is, Howard did not want to be here so the offer is not as high as possible. Morey didn't take stupid pill for possible 1 year rental. Magic got what they think is a better deal so good for them. Guaranteed lottery pick is not worth 3 late 1st round picks, oh wait, Rockets were also offer 2 more 1st rounders.
But the Afflalo kid is good right? No Martin in the offer, remember.
Plus Al Harrington is OK player, better now then any of the players Rockets offering. Please, rookies are about upside. Magics. Want to win now. Wait, am I missing something?

Oh well, here's to the Jeremy's making the season memorable. The best off all world would be all the rockies, PPat, Morris develop and Lin makes it to Allstar and somewhat deserving the vote. You know he is likely to be voted in as starting guard with Kobe. He is not better than CP3 but if he is playing like a man possessed (by the good Lord), then why not?

If they make the playoffs, great! More likely they will be bad as rookies don't fare well in the NBA. But if any one of the Rockets are in Roy contention then Morey did a great job. Superstars don't grow on trees but they start to grow somewhere and this is as good a place as any.:)

A handful of fringe deals - that's the extent of Morey's contribution.

He adds borderline difference makers in Lin and Asik and overpays for both of them. He lets Dragic walk because he can't low ball him.

He amnesty's Scola, the sole remaining face of the franchise in a completely no class move.

In 6 years he doesn't have a single distinguishing achievement in terms of a player he can point to on the roster that he brought to the franchise that the rest of the league is envious of.

And miraculously most Rocket fans just keep kneeling and kissing the ring instead of insisting on a front office guy capable of building a brand for the franchise.

Morey is a flim-flam man. An empty suit. Mr Money Ball. He's the modern day poster child of guy who believes in getting something for nothing.

He's all about "I win, you lose" negotiations, transactions and relationships.

    Do better!
