I don't really understand why we need to look at the bright side in the first place. I for one am quite happy we didn't end up with the Dwight Mare. Sometimes the right deal is not to make a deal, I think Morey made his own final offer which was reasonable, and then walked away when it looks like the GM/owner lost their minds. I'm happy that we got Linsanity to bring the spotlight to Houston, and we got Asik to lock down the court. Let's see what happens.
The bright side is that there is now (more) incontrovertible evidence that the league is a complete fraud and Stern is a greedy assed shyster and one of the most corrupt scumbags in the history of sport who is devoted to nothing but money and ratings. Oh, and the Rockets have some great young draft picks....
There's two things that make me very happy and excited about this upcoming season: One is that the Rockets are very, almost ridiculously, inexperienced which should result in one of the worse(r) records in the west guaranteeing a top 8-10 lottery pick, not to mention we also have Toronto's guaranteed lottery pick. With two lottery picks you can make some serious noise come draft night. The second thing is that we have some very promising young players in Motiejunas, Lamb, Jones and White, each of whom possesses interesting skills and high upside. Should be a fun season watching them develop. I also believe we'll see D-Mo and Lamb in the ROY race.
LOL. This is perennial. It has been a Houston Rockets culture for last couple of years. A lot of talk with nowhere to walk. This off-season has been particularly embarrassing for the Rockets management. The thing is it wouldn't have been as bad if they would keep their mouth shut. They were the hype machine. Rockets acquistions this summer? -Omer Asik (not sure how he fits if they are in a re-building mode. They guy isn't going to get significantly any better) -Jeremey Lin (basketball wise, a lateral move at best when compared to Dragic. At the moment Dragic is better and there is no guarantee that Lin will be better than Dragic) -A bunch of middle-tier rookies that if they pan out will still be decent players?? The kind of players Rockets have been loaded with for the last few years.... You can keep your hopes up thinking that they will turn into great assets one day which Rockets management can then trade for a Superstar, a tactic which Morey has been very adept a....err nevermind LOL. The sad reality is that the Rockets have been finally forced into reality...err...rebuilding mode, something that they should have proactively started a few years back. Oh yea bright side! Well here's one. Les Alexander has his cash cow once again. Jeremy Bling Bling!
This is the "essential" Les Alexander; talks about championships, more about filling seats and contracts with China. Fool me once, fool me twice, fool me three times, fool me four times........ When the Rockets win their next championship, Les Alexander won't be the owner and Morey won't be the GM. Book it.
The Magic might be too good for the 1st overall. I don't see the league favouring Orlando like NOLA or Cleveland.
