Yeah, I wouldn't count on any big moves happening. We might just let Martin expire if it comes to it. This season will have a bit of the feel of the season we started Dickerson and Mobley as rookies, except we have even less established talent on board.
hmmm I would hope that Lin could make the All Star team but he is gonna have some pretty good competition ~ CP3 ~ Nash could very well make it if he has a good 1st half of the season , and he could now that he will be playing with talent ~ Tony Parker has a great shot ~ Michael Westbrook ~ James Harden ~ Rubio if he can come back from his injury has a pretty solid chance to name a few
It has nothing to do with talent based competition. The all star games are all about popularity so really the only competition is who is the most popular pg in the west. The ASG are a popularity contest.
I wouldn't mind trying to make the playoff this year in a way that doesn't hinder the team down the road salary-wise. Al Jefferson will be a free agent at the end of the year, as would Tyreke Evans. I don't think the Rockets would have to pay much for either (Kevin Martin for starters). But if they could make the playoffs this year, it would satisfy the 1st round obligation to Atlanta and they could re-evaluate the team again next summer without any additional salary than they have now. And they could actually be able to use their own first rounders in deals going forward. It would put off the tanking for another year (if they want to go that route) but could give them more future flexibility.
Morey next move would be to email Stern and explain how strong the lakers would be so the trade proposal will be off
