Championship teams almost always have a superstar caliber player that they drafted on their team. Getting lucky in the draft is they key to success in this league. How many teams can you name that won a ring without at least one superstar that they drafted?

So who comes out of the West, OKC or LA? Can Perkins stop Howard from dominating? Will Westbrook kill Nash, or does Howard cover for him now? Can anyone on LA stop Durant? Will Ibaka improve enough to cancel out Gasol? Can LA's bench match up now that Harrington is there?

The Heat also may wanna reconsider that whole "we don't need a C" philosophy.

LA is one of the most supported franchises outside of the US. This will be huge marketing wise for them

This. I thought the Weisbrod guys' stupidity couldn't be topped in the Magic organization.

Anyway, what are we going to do with the 7 or 8 6'9 PFs now? Garage sale?

you're looking at the past. look at the present. He's a very, very good SG, very efficient, and one of the best perimeter defenders on the league to go along with great offensive efficiency. He's coming into his prime. Career PER means nothing here.

Trade with Denver for a wing to take Martins place. Wilson Chandler?

So you let him walk and waste another season in the mean time? Might as well get a few young guys, some extra picks, get rid of a bad contract, and start the tanking now.

Lakers. They didn't draft Kobe (not technically). They didn't draft Shaq. They didn't draft Gasol. Now they didn't draft Howard.

The Lakers are entitled. They just use the other teams as their farm system.

I hope we get him. Word is CZ has not only hit the weights hard, but has grown taller as well. I truly believe Zeller will be a plus Center in the league.

This trade doesnt make too much sense in Orlando... they get 3 picks.... but they are taking back salaries... ORL GM is send to have 3 criteria, I wonder what they were...

    Lakers
    03-04 Pistons
And arguably most of the teams except probably San Antonio who all into the lucked out scenario, wouldn't have won without bringing in Superstars. And the ones that brought in players (save for Dallas and maybe Boston) brought in players of a higher caliber than the ones they drafted.

I have been critical of Morey in the past, but this is not on him. Morey was not going to give the farm, inherit the trash contracts from Orlando for a possible rental, who may have played much less than 72 games for us.

C'mon, you guys cannot have it both ways.
