They are getting rid of J-Rich and possibly others as reported. Other than that you are correct. I've never seen a trade this bad for a superstar.

Afflalo isn't a bad player and they got 3-4 1st round picks. Of course each of the other teams are all playoff teams means the picks stink....

Yeah, I don't get it either.

    This!

We could have had Bynum if we wanted to. There must be some reasons behind Morey not wanting Bynum besides not helping the Lakers as Dwight's going to there anyway.

    Stop the complaining!!

1996, the Magic lost Shaquille O'Neal & got nothing in return. 2012, the Magic lost Dwight Howard & got nothing in return.

Quote of the thread: Denver came out golden.

It's hard to believe they traded the terrible contracts of Al Harrington, Aaron Affalo and a late first round pick for Iguadola.

If that's all it really takes then damn it would have been easy to get several all-stars along with Dwight.

I just don't get how this morning the talk is about LA giving up Pau and Bynum and people were talking about how that'd be a bad deal for Orlando. Now we get an identical deal except Orlando is taking back Harrington instead of Pau?? Makes no sense.

If only the NBA worked that way. Dwight on the Lakers will make the league a boatload of cash. Narcissists in Staples Center continue affirming that they are better than the rest of the world. Masses continue supporting this system. Nothing will change. Although we haven't realized it yet, we are the same as Dallas and San Antonio. We all have championships, won with superstars we drafted, and we are all going to have to continue doing it this way so long as David Stern draws breath. There's no shortcut unless you are LA or Boston.

There has got to be more to this story. There is absolutely no way Orlando accepts this reported deal.

He's a very, very good SG. Top 10 SG in the league. And maybe top 10 wing player in the league. He's very good. Going into his prime. Doesn't fit what Orlando is doing. By the time they'll be good, his contract will be up for renewal and he'll be ready to get out of there if he hasn't gotten out before then. And there's no way he's going to bring back anything close to Dwight in trade.

I don't know, maybe the three GM's ganged up an bullied Hennigan into trading Dwight.

And that is my problem with some of the "No Dwight" crowd. I don't have a problem with losing out on Howard, but those that think our Rookies are going to magically turn into superstars, and/or we are going to end up with a great pick next summer that will also be a superstar, are as delusional as the ones saying Dwight is 100% coming here and 100% resigning. I may end up being wrong and they turn out to be superstars, but I am sure not going to base that on 4 games against the summer league competition they faced.

Unfortunately this is the NBA, where you either go out and make yourself a good team or you pray/luck into getting a rare superstar in the draft.

Spot on. It's a sad system that's in place, but that's the way it goes. It will continue to be a 3 headed dragon (LA, Miami, Boston) until Stern retires.

They gave up arguably the #2 center in the league for the #1 (who requested a trade there).
    Not that hard to believe.

A lot of wet pillows in Cluthland tonight

Now that it's seemingly done maybe we can end the delusions and get back to the reality of building a team
...and believe it or not we've got some really nice pieces to start with. ;)
