In other news, Facebook has had a recent surge in profiles created in the last week. The FBI has asked for a list of these new users to arrest them as they are likey mass murders trying to divert attention.

I'm 32 but didn't get a Facebook page until last year because I had to have one to update the BDL page. I haven't posted (?) anything on it, or status-whatever, but I have commented at my wife four or five times when her phone isn't charged while she's at work. I don't understand anything about all the Facebook. I don't even know how to get to it, nor do I have it bookmarked. I'm not signed in on my browser.

I also have been running or writing for websites since 1997. So, it's kind of weird that I don't have any FB knowledge whatsoever.

I am not a mass murderer but Thursday's not over yet.

It depends..do you have a high IQ and have read Catcher in The Rye more than once?

I haven't really used facebook in years after it went full public mode.

I've reactivated my account a couple of times since then and every time I do, it gets more and more confusing to use. I don't understand why kids these days are so obsessed over it, constantly signed on and checking for updates.

Although most can say the same thing about me and CFnet :D

Lol. Sorry, I'm not calling all my American friends/family.

Facebook is far more convenient. Good try.

I used to have one, but found I wasn't rude enough to turn down friend requests. Next thing I knew every kid I went to elementary, jr. high, and high school was now a "friend", even though I really couldn't stand probably 85% of them.

Then my parents got on fb and could see the numerous college pictures of me doing everything in the world but studying. Removed the tags but the damage was already done. Also got tired of having to police all the pics that friends would randomly post of me holding a beer or a cigarette for fear that employers would frown upon me having a drink and taking a picture with a woman that wasn't my wife.

Finally cancelled the account when we had our daughter and everyone of my "friends" was giving me grief that I wouldn't put pictures of her on facebook. She was premature and spent a month in the NICU and I wasn't going to put pictures of her in that condition on facebook. Privately sent some pics to family and one of my dip$hit cousins posts it on facebook. Cancelled my the next day, and frankly I love not having to jack with it anymore.

If that makes me a mass murderer or unemployable; so be it.

Don't have one, I've become a hermit. I think this is the most public place I'm at.

knew this was coming. It is increasingly clear to me that Facebook is, at least in part, a government/corporate surveillance tool. So now they have to build in the social controls so that you think you have to be on Facebook or you won't be able to get a job or a date.

I say this knowing I use Facebook more than most. But, it is easy to see what they are doing if you look for it. And when they start the "informative news articles" questioning your sanity and humanity if you aren't consuming (and being consumed)...then you know exactly what is going on.

The same holds true for reality TV...c'mon do you think it is a coincidence that one of the key premises is "build a team, get stuff done, then betray your friends for money".

I have a facebook and people don't know what I'm doing 24/7, I mainly like to use it to keep in touch with people who I never see anymore. I don't use facebook for current friends who I see regularly.
