Basically it boils down to this: If you think people are born gay than you believe they should have every right and equal protection under the 14th amendment. If you think gayness is a choice than you are not afforded the same rights.

Modern science suggests (but not conclusively) that gayness is more genetic than a choice. At the same time conservatives tend to ignore science when it doesn't fit their world view (i.e. evolution) so even if it was conclusive they wouldn't care.

    Who really gives a f**k?

I mean, chick-fil-a has the right to sell their chicken s**t.

I have the right not to buy it for a bunch of reasons. Add the fact that they go against one of my causes to that list.

If you don't believe in that, than fine. Buy more. I don't know. I don't give a s**t personally. My personal choice is not to support companies that are not doing right, so I choose not to. If we can stick that line in there, than I think everyone is cool with each other's personal choices.

He's 'disgusted' by gay people because if he 'hates' homosexuals it helps him to believe that he is not gay. He tells himself 'how can I be gay if I hate homosexuals so much'? This is coping mechanism that helps him to justify his homoerotic thoughts and is quite common among men who are repressed homosexuals.

Not exactly. Voting is a right yet we restrict it by age so privilege and right isn't a matter of what has restrictions and what doesn't. Technically we have no unrestricted rights since we even put restrictions on free speech.

What does matter is equal protection. The restriction on driving has to do with public safety and the restriction on voting has to do with mental competency. The reason why you can't marry a child, dog, or car is the same reason why a child, dog and car can't vote, they don't have the mental competency to consent. Beyond those factors though the 14th Amendment calls for equal protection, so if drivers licenses are provided everyone who is shown competent must have the opportunity to get a drivers license. A state can't discriminate on the basis of gender, race, or sexual orientation in regard to getting drivers licenses. The argument for gays being able to get marriage licenses is on that same basis.

I am going to salute you for being honest and also that you are fully entitled to that opinion and your ability to express that opinion shouldn't be restricted.

That said I am going to exercise my own right to free speech and say that yes your opinion is bigoted and you are a bigot.

I agree and I don't really care that much specifically about Chik-Fil-A personally. The CEO is free to express his opinion, Mayor Menino is free to his and if eat or not at Chik-Fil-A is my own.

I think Gay Marriage is an important issue. Chik-Fil-A is a sideshow to that issue.

LOL! Wrong, but what difference does that make? You haven't responded to one thing I've said or any of the points that people have made.

If you don't like homosexual sex and it disgusts you, then don't participate in it. It's as simple as that.

But your discomfort shouldn't be a reason to keep other people form marrying the folks they love.

Sorry you don't have a right or equal protection and treatment from the govt. to feel comfortable.

another comes out of the closet

    brb shipping u to uganda

its cool if thats what voicing my opinion labels me as

lose the "hangout" in ure user title and replace it with "gay"

    awesome

if gays dont like what marriage stands for (man and woman) then dont participate in it. It wont change your "love" for eachother will it? Will it change ure lifestyle? no again i bet. Will it change ANYTHING other than just crying ureself till u get what you want?

    hmmmm...

What is a ure? Is that something that happens when you have a penis in your mouth? If so, you'll need to tell me about it because I don't swing that way. Sorry. :(

I don't think Pull_Up_3 is as much a bigot as he is thirteen years old. At that age, homophobia is pretty common.

Yes, it does. It changes the tax breaks allowed, it changes who gets possessions if one partner dies without a will. It changes who is allowed to be covered with health insurance, it changes all sorts of stuff.

It's about equal consideration under the law. In many places marriage used to stand for union between men and women who were of the same race. Luckily that changed. What marriage is needed to change then, and it should continue to evolve.

Expressing your opinion doesn't make you a bigot. What makes you a bigot is that you want one group to be allowed certain rights and benefits while denying those to a different group. That's always been bigoted and it is in your case as well.

I'll defend your right to express your bigoted opinion. It should definitely be allowed. But it doesn't change the fact that it's bigoted, and everyone who is against bigotry should be also be allowed to speak out against it.

Hmm. This is an odd question. Did you used to walk down the gay aisle of the porno store for the beauty of it.

I'm ok with gays but the mental image of two dudes isn't an attractive one.

I personally don't care at all in the slightest.

If that puts me on pull up's list of homosexuals, I could not give less of a s**t.

It's about time we evolved out of this "I'm straight AND I fight for gay rights BUT I am in NO WAY OR SHAPE GAY." Who cares what some person on the internet or in life thinks of you? If somehow being gay makes you a lesser person in their eyes, that makes them the lesser person in this case and not you.
