I really want to say the b word but thats disrespectful, so im just going to call them unstable creatures -baby boy(paraphrased) Im organizing my friends bachelor party. I personally called everyone and invited them over a month ago and told them what we would be doing and how much things would cost. I personally call every single one of them again a few days ago to double check their confirmations before i put down the deposits for the stuff we are doing (around $800). I send out a group email two days ago with the details and stuff like what time we would be meeting up. Since then i have gotten 4 cancellations from people tat confirmed with me twice that they would be coming. When someone asks you twice if you are coming to something, and you say yes both times with the understanding that the guy is laying out his own money to reserve a spot/hotel room for you, dont be a b*tch and suddenly decide you have to wash your hair that day. Now i am stuck with a nonrefundable deposit for a hotel room because the policy is cancellation before 3 days and the party is tomorrow. Effing a$$holes.
Yup. Or the people canceling at the last minute should be cool enough to pony up some money to help out.
Still 16 left but theres another 24 hours before we head out so who knows at this point lol worst thing is weddings in a week so i cant even make too much of a big deal about it until afterwards
You should tell them that based on their previous responses you have laid out nonrefundable deposits and then tell them how much they owe you for cancelling.

Weddings are expensive. Also, maybe some of these guys have "unstable creatures" at home who aren't down with their man partying in a hotel room with hookers.
I will be getting stuck with the full price of the hotel room since the reservation is for tomorrow. We are doing 4 people per room so the 4 who cancelled means that we have an extra room that has to be paid full price. I can either ask everyone else to lay it out or take the hit upfront and get it from the cancellers after the wedding since I don't want anything to blowback on the groom right before his wedding. Both options suck. and you know what swilkins, unreliable works just as well
Did they know how much they were going to have to pay before you placed reservations? Maybe you priced them out of their budget.
I've said the same thing about men, when people often point out that women are the only unstable (and sometimes unreliable) people on this planet.
