I found this site back in 96 or 97, but didnt joined the forum, because I didnt know a lot of english, so I just read the front page articles and some blog entries. then I joined in september 2003, and I just looked and Im member #14005. almost under 14,000!
It's crazy to see how old this site truly is. Does anybody have any pictures of the old layouts and such of the site? Would be cool to see the evolution of Clutchfans
Im only posting so that I can see my own stats after I submit my reply. EDIT: That was underwhelming.
I was lurking for about a year before I decided not to be lazy and join. Also I'm a pretty young guy(21) i wasn't even 10 years old in the late 90s.. what kind of internet service were you guys using back then? My guess is AOL? lol
Wife, two kids, a couple houses, a few job changes, higher cholesterol, and wider waist size since I've been a member.
I found Clutch City back in college, 96 or 97 I think, didn't register for an account untill a few years after I graduated from college. Mario Elie April fools still sticks with me the most from the early days, was pissed off at school the whole day....
Went here for my Rockets news back when it first came up as a reputable source for Rockets insider information. Didn't know a whole lot about forums back then and lurked. I remember one April Fools where Clutch changed the banner layout to a Spurs fansite. I hadn't checked the site for months and the one day I checked it I thought Clutch was being serious. Didn't check it again for another couple of months. Came back and saw it was a Rockets fansite again and was relieved.
Sub-100; been here since the '97 clutchcity.com days. I remember wondering why many people weren't posting and someone was all "duh, it's the off season." Friggin' n00bs.
