Yes they are ignorant because they don't share your opinions. They are ignorant because they were protecting freedom of speech. Don't they know, only Gays and liberals are afforded that freedom.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

    That's nonsense.

People opposed to equal rights for gays are bigots. Period. And people who spend millions of dollars in order to deny someone equal rights are definitely bigots. I understand that this isn't a settled matter across our nation yet so those kinds of bigots are not universally recognized as such; and in fact many, including some in this thread, are even proud of it. But the thing is history will absolutely judge them to have been bigots. In the future, looking back on those who are opposing equal rights for LGBT, will be very much like looking back at that last, proud band of men that stood in firm opposition to the Civil Rights Act.

People "throw around" the word too much? This is what the word was invented for; this is its actual definition.

Also, support for gay marriage is already a majority opinion in this country. The ones most opposed it are the oldest people polled. The ones most favor of marriage equality are the youngest. Independents favor it by about 13 points.

    Do the math.

The punctuation mark is the 'period', you don't say 'period'. And you are wrong anyways. 'bigotry' implies intolerance, and Chick-fil-A doesn't care about sexual orientation when serving customers or hiring employees. Chick-fil-A is tolerant of homosexuals even though they don't agree with their life choice. Government recognized marriage is not a 'right'. That doesn't even make sense. The only intolerant people here are you and the other Democrats who insist that attacking Chick-fil-A for their owner having a different definition of marriage is appropriate. Lucky, the American people are putting you intolerant assholes in your place.

the American people are exercising their right to be fatasses.

So let me get this straight...(no pun intended:grin:)

If my opinion isn't compatible with the politically correct, leftist democrat liberal hippie hipster opinion, I am a bigot?

So I am allowed to have an opinion, but only if it falls into line with the so called liberal way of thinking...otherwise I am labeled a bigot or a homophobic hypocrite.

    Wow.

So, let me get this straight. A ton of people are deciding "hey, let's eat at Chick Fil A and wait in a long ass line to prove a point to those people that disagree with CFA's CEO donating money to anti-gay organizations???" Where do I begin...

This reminds me of the Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church, in a way. Its like, they are basically saying "hell no, I don't believe gays should hve the right to marry!"

    Or...

They are there simply because they feel the CEO has the right to donate to whomever.

    Or both??

Such an icky situation. Just let gay people get married already. Separation of church and state.

They do it to prove a point to the mayors (Boston, Chicago, San Francisco) who decided to use their political clout to try and bully Chick-fil-A because they don't approve of the owner's stance on marriage (this could be illegal). Screw the thought police. Also to prove a point to the intolerant left.

Separation of church and state would be the government not recognizing any marriages (what most conservatives and libertarians call for you). What you wrote is not separation of church and state.

Correct. And what is even more hysterical is that the liberals believe they are the party of "tolerance". It's truly the height of hypocrisy.

You're darn right I'm proud of good, Christian Americans standing up to bigotry and persecution from the left. You're darn right I'm proud of freedom loving Americans spitting in the face of those who wish to deny them freedom of speech. Not allowing a business to get a permit because of its political views is something that should not happen in America -- it's something that would happen in communist, fascist states. And for the President's former Chief of Staff to come out in favor of this religious persecution and stomping on freedom of speech? Wow -- it just tells you how ultra left wing the voices in Baraka's ear are.

Christianity has been around for thousand of years -- you'll probably have to put up with it for the rest of your life, Bats. Sorry. And I will still be a Christian in favor of free speech in 5 years. Sorry again.

Exactly how is Chick-Fil-A's freedom of speech threatened?

Exactly. You hate gay people and want to deny them the same privileges as straight people, we use the word dedicated for those that hate gay people and want to deny those privileges, and that makes us intolerant of people that hate gay people. Don't be so intolerant of my hatred for gay people! Respect my views!

If of only all those Jim Crow supporters had been so clever as to call MLK intolerant then the course of history would be different!

Yeah, it's situations like these that remind me that the majority of Americans have no clue what free speech means.

....and I'm disappointed in the Church yet again. If we could spend half the energy rallying around causes of suffering and worrying about our own separation from God that we do for freaking chicken sandwiches and finger pointing towards those who never asked to be held to the standards we claim are important for ourselves then we might actually live lives that come remotely close to being able to say we're trying to follow in the example of Christ.
