Cato does it once a game and even Mobley got some love last night. They should run the same play for Yao as they do for Cato, the one where Stevie drives the lane and then throws it up as the defender comes off of our centers to help.

This is exactly the play I am waiting for, it renders the fronting defense moot.

If Yao is left alone by the defense a la Cato, he will be alley-ooping all night long. Personally, I much prefer the face job he got a T for three nights ago. :D

Watch Yao trying to react on defense and you'll probably know why he doesn't get lobs on offense. :) If there's one thing Cato knows how to do better than Yao at this stage of the game it's time the oop on the alley oop.

DoD, but Cato getting all the Alley-Oops is stunting the development of Yao. How is he supposed to learn how to do an alley-oop, if he never gets the chance?

    huh?

There was one play last night where both Yao and Cat were open underneath for a lob. Steve threw the oop to Cat.

Yao is a fast leaner. Although he hasn't gotten the whole "funk" yet, I am sure that he is saving something for us come Friday. I predict at least 1 alley oop...s upside your head that night.

Alley oop is strictly a chemistry, trust and understanding thing. The Alley-er needs to trust Oop-er enough in order to lob one.

    So Yao has incorporated a few American basketball traditions into his game;

    1. Slam Dunk
    2. Monster Dunk and Yell
    3. "And One"
    4. Hard Fouls.

I am confident he will get the remaining necessary ones down prety soon.

An alley oop to Ming would be ugly because he is so damn tall. I think Francis and Posey make the best looking alley combo on the team.

Yao should do it against Lakers because he won't be double teamed in this game (Shaq's ego is too big).

Come on throw one down on Shaq!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

He already did...in that game against the Mavs where he had 30 points and 15 rebs or whatever it was. The Mavs were zoning and MoT was on the baseline and he threw the ball up and Yao jammed it down. I think that was his first official alley.

Yao has to be in the air when he catches the ball. I don't think he's done it yet.

I think he should throw up the alley-oop for francis to throw down.
