RIP Gore Vidal- Your play "The Best Man" is more relevant than ever with today's political systems.

I don't agree with everything you ever said but you were spot on so often...and you were an unabashed, unrepentant intellectual in a world that is cratering because it suddenly decided being smart is a bad thing.

Gore was one of the great historical novelists of our time, as well as being an important iconoclast and commentator on America. I will miss him.

    RIP. :(

I had the pleasure of meeting him some years back. Had a very courteous and sincere demeanor. His best books in no order which I highly suggest every person to read:

    Creation
    Julian
    Imperial America
    Last Empire
    Perpetual War

One of my favorite writers ever. I own his massive collection of essays and almost every single one is amazing. I also really liked the book Kalki.

    Sad day.
