Rice injury exception

    If Rice is out for the season, are the Rox entitled to receive an injury exception this late into the year?

    I think it may be too late to apply for one...I'm not 100% sure though

    I think it is a moot point b/c the Rockets would be unlikely to add payroll at this point.

    i agree, rice isnt out for the season, and its too late to apply for the exception!

    Wow, if we got an exception, we may be able to unload MoT for an unspectacular but solid PF.

    Question:

    If we got an exception for Rice, could we then trade Rice and the exception to another team? (The reason the other team takes it is to buyout Rice, and have 10M off their payroll in a year and a half)

    torn ligaments in the shoulder.....90% chance out for the year...he will not be able to strengthen it for sure. the good part if that it is on the non shooting shoulder, but still tough to play with....if it were his shooting shoulder, then 100% chance he is out.

    I don't think you can trade an exemption except for trade exemption, you know exemptions you get if you give up more money then you receive.

    An Exception could be a worthwhile chit, even offsetting base year problems in some cases. Probably worth more than Rice has been worth, actually.
