Also will be teaching youth ministry at a local Bible college to nationals. Our base will be in Malindi but we will work primarily with people groups further north towards the Tana river region closer to Somalia.
Can we use this thread to ask if anyone is hiring? LOL or will that ruin the purpose of the thread? If so I apologize I'm just looking for a new beginning.
No industrial engineers here? I'm almost a graduate and need advice on where and how to start out my career.
Instrument/Control Systems engineer contractor working in the petrochem industry. Right now specifically for small projects at BP Texas City.
Living the dream! I've done some short mission work in Honduras and various places around the US and can say that they were some of the most fulfilling experiences I have ever had. It's amazing to see how God's working in other places. I had the privilege of talking to somebody who lived in Turkmenistan(I think it was that, if not it was one of the stans) as a missionary while raising his family and he said it was an amazing experience, but that it was hard going because of people thinking he was crazy for doing it. However, God clearly had a plan for him and his family to go to that place and spread the good news. He had some amazing stories about how he interacted with Muslims and was even able to save a few. Good luck in your work in Africa, and always remember that the Lord has a plan and provides for those who love Him and do His work!
Graphic Artist/PowerPoint Specialist for an international marketing research company. btw, passed up this thread the pass few days thinking it was something completely different...
Financial Analyst (4.5 years) for a large branding company based out of Toronto. Office out of Austin. Advanced in Excel (including VBA). My goal is to get into more M&A work if anyone here does that sort of thing.
My goal is to be able to write more Macros in VBA. Currently I have my dad teaching me how to program in C++ so I can learn the basics of computer language. What would you recommend for someone to become an intermediate programmer in VBA as far as books, youtube videos, courses, websites?
Nice. I went to school at Deer Park, and both of my parents taught at Bonnette up until retiring a few years ago. My sister-in-law teaches at south campus.
Unfortunately, a high percentage of the students that get sent to us from middle school come from Bonnette.
Books: Excel VBA for Dummies (Amazon) Links: http://www.techonthenet.com/ http://www.excelforum.com/ http://www.thecodecage.com/forumz/index.php Personally, I wouldn't waste your time with C++ unless you plan on getting more into the programming/business analytics world.
Got my degree a few months ago. I am working a bs job selling cars until I figure out what I want to do with my life. Still contemplating law school, but not sure. If not law school I might look into teaching. Selling cars is lame, way too boring for my taste. I'm good at it because I know how to talk to people, but I cannot stand doing nothing for the majority of the day. Makes me miss the fast pace of restaurants, something I'm considering going back into in either management or perhaps food service sales. But hey I don't want to complain many people are struggling to find jobs at this time and I got one 2 weeks after graduating. Never had to be a leach on the 'rents.
Job Search Tip of the Day July 31, 2012 If you have extensive list of items in a certain category that is too long to include in your resume, create a separate Resume Addendum document. The Addendum can be sent along with your resume or (preferably) submitted during the interview process (e.g. a police officer may include a list of all training courses in an Addendum). www.100percentresumes.com / contact@100percentresumes.com / 806-783-9900
I own a small agency that does Facebook marketing. I mostly do Free to Play MMOs (Aeria, gPotato, Perfect World, etc) and branding for...whomever. My biggest brands so far have been SodaStream and Patron. I've also done political elections in Mexico and I was contracted by an agency in LA I to work on the 2012 US elections for...a major political party. I use proprietary software written by my Israeli business partner that helps me get traffic at a lower cost and I've outperformed a lot of big names, or at least that's what my clients have told me. Dejimedia.com I also have a band with an album coming out soon. It's a rather eclectic mix: me, 2 israeli university students and a refugee from Coite Ivoire. I'd be dong that and writing more novels if I had the means, but in the meanwhile I had to rent my soul to the advertising devil. kidsfromnowhere.com I also consult on the side, either for PR/Writing stuff, biz devel or IT (I was a Solaris admin for a decade). Like Rocket River I had a career change in my early 30's and went back to school for my MA. I sleep about 3 hours a night.
