And Spain closed the game like champs. They should be a bit embarrassed China gave them trouble early on.

Ironic that Spain is wearing uniform by Li-Ning, Nike of China. China wearing Nike.

nah, i think it is more about the way NBA teams have used him. Much like the commentator said, teams usually use him in a pick n pop / spread the floor way. the guy definitely has skills but teams dont play him in a way that he can use them effectively.

get him going to the basket to use his athleticism. as defenders back off him he can shoot over them.

i sure hope llull is the shane battier of the spanish squad, cuz his line was pretty bad otherwise (2 pts, 2 rb, 3 ast, 3 to).

on the plus side, he played more minutes than serge ibaka.

It's kind of a trend that many Chinese young players came out with a lot of talent, like Yi, Liu, Sun, and Chen, but they somehow stop improve very early in their career. Their perimeter defense was just too bad to keep up with Spain. Yi played better than ever. He always had the talent but I believe he has some problem with consistent concentration or drive on the court in NBA. He used to look so mechanic going through motions out there, far from the beasting and determined performance of today's game.

true. I always fathomed how his career would have taken off if he were on the same team with Nash. Talent wise he is the poor man's Amare. In this game, he played Ibaka as well as anyone in the NBA did.

Touched the ball a couple of times. Probably about it.

I finally learned how to pronounce his name.

Yi never would be the shooter Dirk is, but much more athletic than Dirk. So, Amare-lite.:)

Actually in China no one really cared about that and some even thought it was funny.

It was mainly the Asian Americans that were upset about it because those actions were often associated with more racism.

People in China do not understand racism because they are the dominant race in their country. Asian Americans, on the other hand, constantly face subtle stereotype living in the western world.
