Media loves to quote. Just like the Melo interview.

Lol Machado will be lucky to be a 2nd string PG on a team that is not called the Bobcats.

He is not athletic at all, does not have good size, makes Lin look like a defensive stud with his piss poor defense, is slow, and not very strong. His jump shot is also complete garbage. He is only a great passer thats it.... With a lack of speed and athleticism he will have a hard time getting any minutes on the NBA level. Sure he was undrafted like Jeremy but he is not going to be the next Jeremy. He is not athletic enough and too slow. Jeremy was already pretty athletic and quick in 2010. This kid is way too cocky for his own good and demands a lot for an undrafted scrub.

He could go someplace where he'd be a backup, but still play more minutes. Lin's probably gonna see about 36-38 minutes per game, so Machado would be picking up scraps.

Machado could go to, say, a Charlotte or Sacramento and compete and have a shot at playing bigger minutes than what he'd see in Houston.

Either way, this guy doesn't matter. Let him go. He's a specialist.

    Non-story.

    1. Sounds like he is planning on Rockets
    2. Says he thinks he had a better college career than Lin
    3. Says he wants to start at some point

You really want a point guard that says ha had a bad college career and does not want to start? Plus we did not here the interview but instead only read the quotes or pieces of quotes the NYC reporter wanted you to read.

No story here. No need to bash Machado because some of you got your feelings hurt that he did not say, " Lin is the greatest and I hope to be his life long back up on the Rockets, which is the only team I'll ever play for".

I suspect the quotes were taken out of context. What rookie doesn't want to start at some point in their career? That doesn't mean he expects it to happen this year. Considering he was undrafted, there isn't any team in the league that would project him as their starter going into the season.

He says he has been in contact with several other teams and that he doesnt wanna be backing up Lin. Well which team is going to give him a starting spot? Or who does he prefer backing up rather then Lin? He would be lucky to earn 3rd spot on most teams.

I hope Rockets don't sign this dude. I am sensing a Linsanity hater that happened to be an NBA player and Knicks fan. I am sensing too much ego and jealousy. Why would you want someone on the team that already think he has a case against Lin when he doesn't even start a SINGLE game in the NBA or prove anything and already comparing himself BETTER than Lin with his college resume?...Ridiculous. I hate player that just talk talk talk and not walk the walk. Just go out there and do your thing and see if you're actually better before opening your goddam mouth.

Like the King's 5th pick this year Thomas Robinson...saying he should be #1 pick and he's going to prove it when he's on the court blah blah blah and in the Summer League he was HORRIBLE! STFU! Like Bogus from the Bucks who i think was the #1 draft out of Australia?? Before he even play a single game in the NBA he already think he's one of the best, i remember him coming out and putting himself above everything or every center in the NBA including Yao. Look where he is now?? Just an above average player lol.

By the way, I actually like his performance in the summer league.

I think people are sleeping on Toney Douglas. I think being out of New York will do him wonders, and I think he's perfect change-of-pace from Lin. It's tough for me to see Machado beating out Douglas for the backup spot.

Yep, true at this point Douglas is playing better than Machado.

Machado worked out for the Knicks. Many thought the Knicks would draft him at 48th and were worried that he'd be gone by then. Before the draft Machado said he deserved to be drafted first round. Knicks turned out drafting a Greek player from overseas (sorry, don't remember the long name).

Being confident and believing in self is good, but maybe he should work harder and try to player better before saying too much.

He also said it would be fun to back up Lin. Which quote do you want to run with?

Just woke up a couple of hours ago and I'm very happy to report that neither me nor my wife slept on top of Tony Douglas last night and were unable to locate him anywhere in our bed. As I understand he's sneaky, we will be sleeping with one eye open tonight. That is all.

    :p

Is this guy serious? I respect his desire but he's coming off as an idiot. Also has to make you wonder if he'd make the same comments if Kyle Lowry was still the starter.
