Victor Hall, This guys is appart of our 40-man Roster for the astros, it says he plays outfield and bats and throws left handed. It also looks like he is a centerfielder because of his weight and height. Peter grmmons listes him as the #1 innocuous acquisitions who could surprise on his list. If anyone knows anything about this guy can u reply. the link to the artical is http://msn.espn.go.com/gammons/s/2003/0110/1490443.html

If your a subscriber to the Chronicle, you can search their website/old newspapers for his name. I would do it but I'm having trouble finding my Chronicle account number at the moment. I remember reading about either here or at orangewhoopass.com. If it was here, I can't find it, if it was at orangewhoopass, it's rolled off the board.
we got him in a trade i believe. . . he was picked in the Rule V draft and then we obtained him from someone...supposedly he has alot of upside.
We got him from the Rockies for Nelson Cruz. BTW, why does Gammons have to use such big words, and what does innocuous mean?
If we got him for Nelson Cruz, I'm sure he will suck. It also doesn't help that Peter Gammons says he may be good.
well atleast he looks like he doesn't strike out a lot and and has pretty good speed to steal a couple of bases. but u think i could be possible that he might be another evert?
The reason we got him for such a low price was because he is Rule V draftee. Basically, if he does not make our roster this year, then he is automatically sent back to Arizona (where Colorado got him) and we get $25,000 (I think that is the number - I know it is really low.
I think that's pretty much what they wanted him for. Rocks&Ags, if we don't keep him on the roster, I thought the Astros had to pay money. Can somebody clarify that?
bigtexx was referring to Glen Barker who the Astros took in the rule 5 draft a few years ago - from Cleveland, I believe.
