    Understanding How Modern Liberals Think

This is a little old and long yet I think it really explains a lot about how a lot of the people on this board think. BTW, I am attempting to imbed the Youtube video, not sure if this will work as I have never tried it before. Please click the link if the imbed doesn't work.

Can you at least add some commentary or key relevant points, for those of us who don't have 47 minutes to listen to Richard Lewis from Curb your Enthusiasm?

First 2 minutes basically comes out to "liberals think America deserved 9/11." Yeah, very constructive. If you believe that, I can't help you, you are off the deep end.

I don't believe that you understand anything about modern liberals, much less what they think. You seem to believe the Fox "News" caricatures of liberals are actually accurate, which says a lot more about you than it does about them.

His central thesis is that liberals, in their desire to avoid discrimination, have become indiscriminate supporters of evil. Thus, he states, all liberal advocacy, without exception, is wrong. One of his touchstone examples is opposition to the Iraq war. The ever-present contradiction is that liberals lack the capacity for discriminating rational thought, yet they somehow are able to identify America itself as evil.

The guy is confused, as is our OP. There's no secret key to understanding liberal thought, and those who claim to have it tend to obtusely project their own inadequacies onto the subjects of their critical discourse. Much of this behavior is transparent to external observers, which is why our friend bigtexxx is so pathetic. Some posters around here can temporarily veil their intellectual deficits behind boastful rhetoric, but they usually come unhinged at some point.

You know, I have no idea if the guy is right or not that is why I gave no comment on the video. I stumbled across this video and found it intriguing. I posted this to see the reaction from the liberal guys on here. I have seen pretty much what I expected. Thanks for the experiment.

To tell you the truth, I actually really try to understand what makes you guys tick. I really try to understand where you are coming from. I mean there is VERY rarely anything that you guys post that I agree with. I really try to look for any possible common ground but find none. Everything I think is right you guys think is wrong and everything you guys think is right I think is wrong. Obviously I think I am right and I know you think you are right. How did we arrive at two polar opposites in points of view?

I think liberally because I was raised on Jesus, Superman, MLK, JFK, Hef, Vonnegut, Pryor and Carlin.

King, I could say the same thing about you. There are a LOT of people who think like I do. Liberals don't have the monopoly on being right and I am not saying conservatives do either. My question is why the great divide? I truly do not understand what makes a liberal tick.

Dubious, I was raised on basically the same thing yet we seem to have opposite views on most things. Why is that?

texxxaco, did you make a list of half-positives and negatives?

Can you clarify your stance on this particular point, please, and why you would have specified a certain group? TIA.

I think you mean to cross out Vonnegut, and to replace that with Rand.
