Since the rookies were signed not so long ago.... is there a loophole were they can be traded at any time? Or we have to wait 30 days?

Tony Mejia: "@sheimans:Got new intel on D12 situation?" No, expect Jacque Vaughn to be named HC sometime next week, followed by methodical negotiations. about 10 minutes ago

You can agree in principle to a deal now but still have to wait the 30 days.

This guy is making the "I've decided to take my talents to south beach" version of Lebron look like a PR genius. Can he really be this much of an idiot?

Oh I guess we wait and see where Dwight lands.... as much drama going on with Dwight with the he said she said crap.... I wouldn't mind having him here in Houston...... think about it if he goes to LA there is no way the rockets will sniff the finals anytime soon.... you got Thunder, Lakers, Clippers, Spurs, Timberwolves(very young and talented team on the rise), Mavs (they still have a superstar), so......

Regardless of where he goes Morey already told Scola where the Rockete really are and I'm glad Scola expressed that in the interview. I'm not a fool in the 90's I knew basketball then too and saw what a real championship team is and when an organization is really focused on winning a championship. It's not happening in Houston anytime soon. Know it sounds so negative but I just don't trust Lesley Alexanders decision making right now I feel Morey is finally doing what he wants to do 100% for the first time... Be patient with Morey.

Lol you are so right. We are use to winning. When was the last time the rockets overall record was under .500. I'm interested in seeing the development of the pretty much everyone on the team... Even Kevin Martin after last year.

Actually, Howard would be fine if he lands in LA or NY. Fans eventually forget stuff like this and the guy will be back to making gazillion dollars in advertising money soon enough. But if he doesn't land in either city, then he's fairly screwed in terms of PR because he won't be the glamour player ESPN care about while fans would retain their hate for him.

This is why I don't give a damn about Howard's "threat" to go to Dallas. Because no one would give a flip about Dwight Howard in Dallas playing alongside Dirk and a bunch of role players. This is also why I don't care if Howard pouts and don't bother playing for us with his injury excuse. Because Addidas is going to just dump him if he became a cancer with two consecutive teams. Plus, Dwight Howard would be the laughing stock of everyone if he decides to sign in NY/LA for the MLE.

Dan Fegan is doing his best to prevent a Howard-to-Houston deal because he understands how boxed in his client is in such a situation. If Howard truly did have a great amount of options, Fegan would tell Howard to sit quietly, play out the year in Houston, and the leave us in FA.

If we keep the rookies, I believe we will be pretty good to be honest.... we have a defensive minded center, DMo can most certainly make up for the offense for Asik, you have Jeremy Lamb that seems to have a good feel for offense, small forward we have Parsons who is good on the defensive end and can at times drop 20 points..... now at PG we have Jeremy Lin, all I hope so he plays like he did while all the LINSANITY craze was going on.....

This is how you spread misinformation, tell it to a source you know will leak it. I doubt if Morey expected Scola to keep anything he was telling him confidential as he was telling him he was going to be amnestied.

I'm starting to believe that after "the decision"-all these journalists do is spew non sence bc everyday is exactly the same...the report for "their cities so to speak"-I haven't heard ATL. In a while well why bc ATL doesn't generate press...LA, NY, BSPN in their northeast and west coast locations see the money. Everyday it draws out espn gets more hits,
more people tune in to "some insider news" that's the same-I think there are a ton of responsible people involved-...and ORL thinks keeping Dwight gives them some lime light.
It's all about the money, Dwight isn't walking away from any money I know this!
I'm just starting to wonder espesh after the botched Pau trade just how rigged the whole sports world is, or corrupt I guess is the word

The epic contract year...that's what Morey specializes in..thing is he knows that players play harder in a contract yr...yet he still will low ball them, I.e. Landry, Lowry, etc. but whatever I get it had to study tons of econometrics it's neat.
One cool thing to look at in a similar way yet, not pay is how the cubs only play day games at home, so they had the most day games of any team...is that affect competitive balance, does it help the cubs win more, does home field really work?
Questions like these are what DM asks n wonders years ahead or moves ahead,
he looks at so many variables...and sitting Kmart at the end last yr helped DM prove a point, n ya lowered his value, but not really bc he's a great expiring deal in a contract year. DM is going to do great things it may be a rookie he drafted, it may be a superstar, it may be his picks...I dunno, I trust in him, and Kmart if he's still on the team come the start of NOV. 1

Peter Vecsey: This leads us 2 believe Houston, owning load of assets, though no center, is leading contender 2 get DH, unless AB agrees 2 extend in Orland 4 minutes ago

wtf? Vecsey is like a month behind. We do have a center in Asik and Orlando wants nothing to do with Bynum. Both of which gives us more leverage.

    To put that in context:
[rquoter]Today's on the record assertions by DH's agent and Magic management cleared up a couple claims made by reporters citing anonymous sources. Dan Fegan left no room for doubt when he declared his client would not sign an extension with the Lakers or any team, including BK.

While reconfirming Howard only wants to be traded to BK, Fegan stated no contract would be signed until he becomes free this summer. Moreover, Magic management denied Howard would remain w Orlando against his wishes and would be traded. That shot down misinformation that has circulated the last few days to a week by reporters who contend to be in the know.

Let it be a lesson to us all, not 2 act/overreact 2 to stuff we have no idea if it's true. It's so important to build trust in messenger.

This leads us 2 believe Houston, owning load of assets, though no center, is leading contender 2 get DH, unless AB agrees 2 extend in Orland[/rquoter]

Don't think Vec is very reliable, if at all but whatever.

I think we end up with Dwight in late August,TM tweeted Orlando told Houston they were not ready to trade Dwight and they would call us back in a month.

    Im thinking Martin/Dmo/Morris/2 1rd for Dwight/Jrich/Baby

    Then flip Lamb/Patterson for Iggy

    Lin
    Iggy,
    Parsons
    Baby
    Dwight

    Contender?
