Yao was even knocking down jumpers in those playoffs. I always knew that he could, but he was doing it like a boss.
Probably a YOF? There are way too many previous rockets...just in the 90's...Mad Max, Horry, OT, Chucky Brown, etc... And that's not including the obvious names.
Watching those highlights makes you realize even more how offensively inept the bigmen in the league are the last 2 years. Yao really seems to be the last offensively dominant bigman.
I remember I made a thread after Yao's injury diagnosis in the LA series asking if he could/should continue to play through it, since we were so close to the finals. It was a knee jerk thing on my part that, given the importance of Yao's future to our franchise at the time, would never have been OK'd by anybody with the Rockets. But knowing what we know now, man... if he would've just gutted it out on that microfracture a few more weeks. I know it might have royally f***ed him over for life, but since that was the end of his career anyway... might as well have gone out swinging, a la McHale.

With Yao in that series Lakers up 2-1. Without Yao the Lakers went 2-2 in that series. If anything the Lakers were bored and paid for it by getting blown out in the Game 4 and 6 visits to HOU
I was only 5 and 6 years old when we won our two championships. So I remember very little of those times. Since ive been a fully conscious fan, theres no doubt that was the most exciting time of my Rocket life. I almost forgot just how dominant Yao was... incredible!!
