Why is it okay for a culture to become increasingly obsessed with p*rnography (yes, the ad spot in question is soft p*rn) as it simultaneously becomes more self-righteously religious and moralizing? The ad's okay with me, but I don't think it's funny. Again, it's just soft-core p*rn, quite an eye full, actually.
I think it works on more than one level. Obviously, guys like me who act all moral but are pretty depraved deep down inside. . . Uh, crap, what was I saying. . . Anyways, the sexy girl fight does appeal to our desires as men, but it is also hilarious in a self depricating sort of way because it pokes fun at how we think and how easy it is to sell things to men. Just think of the part in the bar where the guys say something about how is it possible to not like that commercial or something, then they show the two chicks sitting next to them with that look on their faces. I've never heard the "let's make out" part, is that at the very end while the one girl is making the sexy moan
where do you buy your p*rn: toys r us? the p*rn i've grown to know and love and... well, know and love, looks nothing like that commercial, and thank the maker.
Ric, I'll admit it. I cannot compete at all in a p*rn-off. We can draw lines wherever we want, but if you ask me, Swimsuit Issue, this beer ad, Hustler, Penthouse, Immense-She-Males-From-Hell magazine, your favorite internet p*rn site, whatever: they're all part of a spectrum once you determine the intent. And the intent of that ad isn't primarily to be funny, IMHO. Again, I don't have a problem with it. I just think it's weird that our culture is getting more and more accepting of T&A (etc., etc.) but simultaneously more church going. Maybe they go hand in hand, like churches next to titty bars in my homeland, the lovely, unzoned Houston.
Well my thread took a turn for the worse. I wanted a little corner of the BBS where us neanderthal men could bask in the glory of the Miller Lite babes, than someone had to come along and ruin it by saying they actually don't like the commercial, yet allow their child to watch the gratuitous violence innate in the sport of football. Now, back to the topic at hand. Blonde or Brunette? I've given this topic some thought and came to this conclusion. I prefer the brunette because I get a close examination of her chest region, via a properly placed scan of the water fight shot from above, when her top happens to be unbuttoned. We get no such viewing of the blonde, and thus have no basis of judgement. Brunette wins thanks to the viewing public's ignorance of the blonde's body. Miller Lite should right this wrong with a follow up commercial.
brunette. simply because brunettes are superior to blondes. would you take a hot blonde or a hot brunette? i prefer the brunettes.
I don't think this is what is happening. I think there is a growing polarization in society where one group increasingly accepts and embraces the T&A while another grows increasingly reactionary at this change they detect in society. Btw, I don't watch enough football or TV in general to see the commerical in question. Anyone have a link? Plus, I think drapg is too hard on violence in football. Half naked chicks is much less wholesome than some good physical football.
Brunette Also like that girl who pops up thru the suds in the laundry room (different commercial). Just draws me in. Also like girl in what I think is the old Dentyne commercial. Super hot.
Giving kids the notion that violence is acceptable but sex is not sends the wrong message I think. I say we should teach kids sex before violence, but maintain a healthy level of both.
I teach my kids that violence is bad because it devalues human life. This devaluing of life is not present in sports in my opinion....I am not saying all parents should draw the line here. This is just where I have chosen to draw it. I teach my kids that p*rnography is bad beacuse it values women only as sex objects. This valuing of women is present in the Miller Lite ad in my opinion. I would prefer my 11 year old not see it. That's all. As an aside, I was not judging anyone for liking this commercial. I was just saying it was inappopropriate for my kids.
Brunette in Miller Lite commercial! Kitana Baker! http://www.kitanabaker.com/ link is not safe for work!
Somebody give rockHEAD a beer. I would, but I'm under age. Thank you Kitana Baker for giving me a reason to use "right click and save."
