No doubt he's eager to jump that sinking ship.

This. Him and his overpaid contract's a big reason for Orlando not being able to surround Howard with a decent supporting cast. He was just lucky enough to be drafted the same year as Howard and get a wisp of the franchise building block money.

I wonder if this is a Richard Jefferson under the table contract opt out, where he opted out with a handshake agreement for a longer-year smaller $ contract already agreed to.

Hennigan might get fired before trading Howard. That's a dumb contract.

    Wow. Just . . . wow.

If those contract figures are accurate, then I think this HAS to be an ownership-driven move. DeVos is getting old and, if he's going to have to rebuild, perhaps at least wants one of the "faces of the franchise" to stick around. Emotional attachment, I guess.

Rob Hennigan is far too smart a GM to willingly hand out that contract for a mediocre starting PG who relies on speed and quickness yet has already begun a steady decline in both areas.

No way to justify that contract. Completely ludicrous.

Maybe the Magic want us to trade Lin to them and then we would need a starting PG and would take Nelson off them as well. Lol.
