I originally thought that Parcells would certainly coach for 4 years. Now, after the Sean Payton signing, (asst head coach and QB's coach) I started thinking that maybe he was going to groom Payton. Then a good friend of mine dropped a bombshell on me this morning when we were talking about the Payton thing... Parcells belongs to a very exclusive all male golf club in New Jersey. It happens to be the same club that a good friend of mine belongs to. Apparently, 2 days before Parcells officially signed the contract, he asked the owner of the club for a 2 year leave of absence. It makes some sense though... 2 days before he signed was still the end of December...had he asked for the leave in January, he would be liable for at least the 1st months installment of dues, possibly the entire year (why would a guy about to sign a 17 million dolar contract care about a 1 month pro-rated dues payment? I have no idea...a whole year makes more sense) Who knows...maybe he is just hedging his bet and will ask for another 2 year leave in 2005. I thought it was interesting enough to share regardless.
Parcells will not stay all 4 years. He and Jerry Jones will get into a huge ego clash before then and Parcells will walk away. The funniest part will be watching Crack Wagon fans crowing about how they will win another Super Bowl under Parcells. Keep dreaming!
Actually most Cowboys fans already assume that Parcells won't be here for all 4 years. Parcells will however put them on the path to another Super Bowl. To think he won't is crazy. After winning two Super Bowls (two more than any franchise that has called Houston home) with the Giants he led New England to the Super Bowl, and led the Jets to the AFC CHampionship Game. After all the success he's had everywhere he's been why would he all of a sudden become a loser? Seems to me that some Houston fans are just a little envious. I'm betting that the Cowboys (America's Team) will win another Super Bowl before the Texans even make it to the AFC Championship game.
You're on, Nutbush! The ego clash between Parcells and Jerry "It's my Sideline" Jones will be monumental. It will make a beauty pageant look like a church revival, and that is the reason Parcells will not be successful...he's never had to deal with an owner that refused to get out of his way! Why don't you stick to your Dallas sports-related BBS threads instead of trolling here? Oh I forgot...there aren't any Dallas sports fan sites that are worth a flying f*ck, that's why! Silly, silly Crackwagon fans. You stooges make me giggle!
