    Yao will play...Posey starts !!

    From the Rockets site:

    Glen Rice, who also departed early from the Nuggets game after sustaining a strained shoulder, will not play tonight and will likely be out for several days. James Posey will be in the starting lineup in place of Rice. Maurice Taylor (sore Achilles) also will be out of action tonight and will likely also miss Wednesday's game against Phoenix. In addition, Eddie Griffin missed today's shootaround after coming down ill and he is questionable for tonight's game.

    Great! We have no Power Forwards for tonight's game. Can we get KT back for a couple of days?

    There's absolutely no way Cato can guard Walker. He's just not quick enough, but I can't think of any other solution at the 4 spot for tonight's game.

    Can we have Posey play the 4 position and give
    Hawks/Boki some play time on the 3 spot?

    I think Rudy will throw him in a few minutes tonite for some offense......we'll see. Rockets need to win this one for some confidence and cushion.

    if boki doesn't play this game, rudy is hopeless. think about it. he has rice starting b/c he supposedly can hit the open three. it's definitely not b/c of rice's defense. now that rice, MoT, and Eddie are out where's he gonna get his three's from? TMo? HawK? i dont' think so. who's left? Boki. i dont' care if he's a rookie or not. if he can contribute no worse than rice than boki should play.

    As much as I hate injuries, this one actually may turn out to be good for our team. I mean, it will give Posey a chance to shine. I really think he can help us better than Rice. This is his oppurtunity to prove it. I don't know about putting in Cato and Yao at the same time though. Yao can't/shouldn't do a full game, and Cato is a terrific back up, simple as that.

    Anyone want to bet we go four guards and Ming for a while in this game?

    Mooch, Stevie, Cat and Posey with Ming. bet we spend at least 5 min with that combo on the floor.

    Course I'd much rather see Cato at 4 and some PT for TMo, Boki, etc.

    I was hoping it would never happen, but I think we will see the begining of the 4 guard line up. The prophecies have come true, the world is doomed.

    Bad timing on Griffin's illness, since its a home game against a featured team. Rudy T puts a lot of importance on winning home games... the way he measures the team is on winning road games (+1) and not losing home games (-1) so he will be more apt to "pull out all the stops" to win this one.

    That said, I have a hunch he will play Posey against Pierce a lot and since Griffin won't be available (darn!) he may play TMo against Walker. He may resort to Posey on Walker if Walker gets hot from the 3pt line but I don't know if Posey is strong enough to guard him for extended minutes or if Walker goes inside.

    I too would like to see Boki play but I have a hunch TMo and Hawkins will see the minutes, not Boki...

    Cato and Ming. I would like to see that! But probably not against the Celtics!

    I am just wondering how stupid this formula is (one Road win +1; one home lose -1), or I missed something:

    Assume now you have x point now, with one road game and one home game.
    one road win: you have x+1;
    one road lost: you have x;
    road win followed with home win: you have x+1;
    road win followed with home lost: you have x;
    road lose followed with home win: you have x;
    road lose followed with home lose: you have x-1;

    In any case:
    2 won > 1 won > 0 won regardless where the won is on the road or at home.

    Conclusion:
    You can not tell the difference between home win from road win from this formula. You total point will always the same as long as win total is the same regardless where you get you win.
