What's going to be different a month from now that will make a trade go through?

When the Magic are comfortable that they have the best offer they'll ever receive for Howard. Might be tonight, might be tomorrow, might be a month, might be February, might be next summer. It's out of our hands. All the Rockets can do is put themselves in a position to act whenever Hennigan's through his process and feels he's squeezed every bit of leverage he has.

I'm glad it looks like we are keeping Jones. I wasn't happy draft night but I'm starting to like this kid. I think he has way more potention than his big blue brother Patterson.

This goes to show that Lamb is being traded along with Martin, for a one year rental Howard.
This isn't surprising, but it sucks.
D Morey needs to sign Lamb immediately.Enough of this Howard drama.

All the rookies(minus Furkan Aldemir) were signed.

If Clutch or Clutch crew can update the title, thanks.

Basically, this is coming down to Morey came at Orlando with an offer, which includes taking on a limited amount of bad contracts, giving only one or two rookies and they said, they want more. Morey probably said, 'Sure, if he signs a long term deal,' Dwight goes 'No,' Morey then say 'This is the best you get' and Orlando is like 'But we want MORE!'

Thus the stalemate and Magic in essence trying to get probably more of our rookies and/or make us eat more bad contracts. One can only hope Morey doesn't waiver in just taking a limited amount of trash for the Dwight rental.

I think Morey just posturized Hennigan.

Berman tweeted that Lamb is signed. Most this could mean is Dwight comes 30 days later or DMo is the one high upside guy packaged with picks and Martin next week. Or no Dwight at all I guess is also the other possibility.

As a reminder to everyone, when Morey agreed to the deal for Ron Artest, Donte Greene was not eligible to be traded for another 2 weeks.

For all we know there is a salary cap reason behind signing them to use them in a trade.

Good point... forgot about that. From the July 31, 2008 story breaking the Artest trade:

But the deal can't be completed and announced before Aug. 14 because Greene is not eligible to be traded until then, per league rules, since he signed with the Rockets on July 14.
