Some superstars did not get ref respect. For example, Yao Ming and Hakeem. Very frustrating watching the poor officiating.
The NBA game really lacks integrity .... The game should be called fairly , a foul is a foul no matter who commited it or who the victim is. This is something that has bugged me about the NBA game for more than 4 decades .... and its only gotten worse in recent years.
Actually, when we had the superstars, we still didn't get the 'ref respect'. Yao got hacked on every play whether he had the ball or not, but yet was called for r****ded non contact fouls every game.
Let's look at fixing the problem... Root cause: The fact that superstar calls exist. A foul is a foul.
Yup.... The only way they will shake the WWE comparison is by balancing and calling it fair. Until then the shroud of "rigged" will always hover over the NBA's head. How many times have you heard "I know stern doesn't want a Pacers v. Spurs" final? The fact that people actually think that speaks volumes about the league image.
For next year, at least, why wouldn't we welcome the worse end of the officiating? Worse record = possibly better pick = better trade bait for superstar.
Lin got superstar calls in against the Nets, Mav's, Lakers. He'll get those calls next season. Ass-kicker needs to practice free throws that's for sure.
