As long as I dont hear "With the 14th pick in the 2013 NBA draft the Houston Rockets select..." I'm cool with whatever.

I say about 45.. We r young, quick and talented. Rockets will be the number 7th or 8th seed for the playoffs guarantee you that....

If that's what happens with this group then you can start talking about Daryl Morey as executive of the year.

    16 t0 20 and I thought I was being generous.

I expect us to lose 18 of the first 20 and then to get gradually stronger and stronger..

BTW that is fine with me. I think it will be an enjoyable season.

My dream scenario. We don't give up too much. We get Dwight who of course has every excuse in the world to pull a David Robinson and rehab for most of the season.

We win 12 games or whatever is necessary to be the worst. Better yet we lose 50 of the first 55, many in the last minute or two as we get more and more competitive. We end up winning 6 of the last 12. Dwight sees the potential of the young guys.

Dwight wants to play with them, our top three pick, the other max guy who we let him choose and voila!! instant rebuild.

this could be realistic in the east, but in the west and our division will be very difficult. but the best thing we noticed was that lamb, white, jones, and dmo already picked up some good chemistry together. I know for sure we will not have more than 45 wins, but I do believe we can get up to 40 wins

All of you are being insecurely pessimistic

Vegas...you know the ppl who could actually lose something over this...puts the Rockets as 30 to 1 odd for nba champs

That's the same as Dallas and Memphis

thats a three way tie for the 9th best team.

According to the power rankings, we are the 3rd worst team in the league. If that's the case we are probably projected under 20 wins. I voted 31-35. I think we will hit 33-49 for the year. Realistically, Only Lin and Martin have hit game winners in the NBA (not calling them cold blooded by any means, just stating facts). Other than that, nobody is a closer. Seems to be our biggest issue every season (not being able to close games). Anyway, I see us beating the teams we are suppose to beat (Sac, Tor, Cha, Was, Det, Mil. and then going 50/50 with the playoff contending teams, and then getting destroyed by the Miamis and OKCs of the league.

Actually Lin is a ridiculously good closer. Has the second highest PER in the league, second to CP3. He also ranks 6th in the NBA in terms of points scored in the 4th quarter. Not saying that the rockets will win more than 35 games as you projected. But I think they could really surprise a few people against the more dominant teams in the league (OKC etc)

Really? I like the potential for the team in the future... but as of right now, how can you think they are going to win as much as 45 games?

Parsons, Patterson, and Asik are your STARTERS.

Asik was a backup for Noah on the bulls. Parsons and Patterson are scrubs. Martin is a decent scorer, but nowhere near elite. And Lin is still unproven.

Then the bench, while full of potential, are still a bunch of rookies.

The potential for this team is great... but this roster is made up of a bunch of scrubs.

Really? A bunch of 23 and under players for the most part winning enough games to get the 14th pick is a bad thing? For the Rockets to win the 14th seed, Lamb, DMo, White, or Jones would have to step up to at least near all-star level. Now, if it's the Toronto pick, you have a point.

Parsons isn't a scrub. Patterson didnt play great last year but I wouldn't call him a scrub either.

I'm not saying this won't happen (it surely could), but do you folks who are saying they'll win 25 or less games this season realize you are putting this team at best as the third worst team in Rockets history (record-wise, in any case)? Yeah, it could happen. But man...

I followed the Rockets during the 14-win season (82-83) and it was an ugly thing to behold at the time. The only redeeming part about it was the potential of getting the number 1 pick (which we did)...but the season itself was about as miserable as it could be.

At this point, Parsons is a scrub. And when I say that, I don't mean he is a bad player or that he will never be a good player.

He is a good player for his age, and a decent player overall, but in the NBA, he is a scrub.

This team is roughly all college-age players.

It's basically a college team. Almost all rookies or second year players.

They could do okay next year... but they can also do pretty terrible. We just don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me if they did terrible. But it wouldn't surprise me if they did decent, either. They are talented.

Respectfully, that's not very good use of the word scrub. Parsons has played only one season (and a shortened season at that). A scrub would be more accurately defined as someone who has been given an adequate chance to prove himself and has either not done so (and washed out) or has only barely managed to hang on with minimal skills. In my mind, Parsons cannot realistically be defined or described that way.
