    From today's Chron:

    Channel 51 update

-- KNWS (Channel 51) owner Doug Johnson said Friday that the station has signed a retransmission agreement with Dish Network, clearing the way for Channel 51 to be available on the dish later this year.

Johnson said he did not know when the Dish Network agreement would click in and could not predict if or when DirecTV would follow suit.

"Later this year?" Thank God for Time Warner digital cable.

Thanks Free agent for the update,
So let say they have agreed every thing...channel 51 will be on Dish network and Direct TV...
and for the outside Houston cities (like Beaumont), can we still be able to buy NBA leage pass to watch the Rockets games without the blacked-out crap?

Actually it is the other way around. League pass goes through Dish,Direct and Digital. Houston area digital cable(as well as regular cable) already carries ch.51. The other 2 do not currently carry ch. 51 because there was some sort of mix up in filing some federal paperwork.
