Looks stiff walking around and he obviously lost the explosion, but his moves and shot make him better than a lot of bench players. <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/szbx3P_ORf0?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/szbx3P_ORf0?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
I think he's going to have a Yao Ming type career ender. No offense to the guy but his knees are in bad shape.
If there was even an inkling of a chance that Roy could come back and perform at even 50% of what he used to be.. there's no way the Blazers would have let him left. I honestly think he's done and he's been done. I realize basketball is/was his life and it's hard to stay away and I admire him for trying to come back instead of just giving up and collecting checks but this is not going to end well. Anyways, I was a huge Roy fan and I want him to succeed so I will pull for him.
Maybe it's just me, but I feel like some of ya'll are drawing too much this one performance. Heck, it's just a summer league game. Most players half-a$$ these games. Yes, I understand the catastrophic damage that has been done to both of his knees is something that will prevent him from ever playing at the level he used to and I'm not saying that he will again, but maybe just maybe he has more left in the tank than what he showed during this game. Let's not count him out just yet and I'm pulling for him to make a successful comeback. Roy was one of the true classy and humble guys in the league (not to mention a HELL of a baller) and it would be awesome to see him do good again.
It hurts me even to watch this. Bone on bone is not pleasant. However Roy does have an out. I predict 2 Teflon knees in the next 4 years. But the guy is not going down easily.
does not look like the BROY i remember ...hopefully its just the early portion of getting back into the game.
I hope he is able to make a strong come-back without messing up his future. I was a big fan of Roy, he is a very easy guy to root for.
i find that hard to believe considering most of these players are playing for a contract or showcasing some aspect of their game to the league .. this isnt like preseason where most of the starters just want to get through
this is sad .. portland with roy, oden and aldridge .. and rockets with yao, tmac, artest would have been fun to watch for years .. sometimes injuries take away so much potential
