Would love to see this line up

    PG Rondo
    SG Durant
    SF Lebron
    PF LA
    C Dwight

What a long, versatile bunch of players that is. Would like to see Dirk instead of LA, really.

Thought about putting Love at PF as well but I think he lacks defensive presence. Maybe as the second unit of

    PG CP3
    SG Kobe
SF Paul Pierce (would not put MELO on the list. I hate his game)
    PF Love
    C Bynum, Hibbert or Chandler

If Blake Griffin gets some go to moves and stops flopping he puts himself as the starter on this team but until then, he doesn't make the cut.

    Also, get well DROSE!

Korver is a 3 point specialist. Why is that funny?

Considering international basketball = more 3 point shots taken, it would be smart to have a spot-up shooter who can knock those shots down.

He shot 44% from 3 this past year... and shot as high as 54% one year.

I think having certain players (like Korver) helps with the flow of the game and creates a good TEAM, instead of a collection of all-stars.

When you have too many play makers on the floor, it causes problems.

In my opinion, it works best if you have a defensive center like Howard, a good passing point guard like Paul, two play-makers/scorers (there are many to choose from on team USA), and 1 spot-up shooter like Allen or Korver.

All of the super-stars have one thing in common... scoring.. and a lot of that scoring comes from isolation and making moves to the basket.

That style of play doesn't work as well in international competition. Teams are forced to shoot from the outside a lot more in international basketball.

It's hard to build the best team possible when all of them have the same strength.

Team USA needs to have SOME spot-up shooters. They can't just rely on Durant to hit the 3.

I mean think about it.... if it was all about superstars, then USA should have blown Argentina out of the water. They should have blown Brazil out of the water.

But they didn't. Building a team is about more than putting all the superstars on one team.

Bro Korver sucks! He wouldn't even start on this Rockets team! Give me Steve Novak over Him if you want a 3 point specialist!

This is actually not a bad list, I'd switch Korver for Love though, for added inside presence and outside touch.

Also I'd like to find a spot for Westbrook he has been playing with amazing heart through these exhibition matches

You didn't even choose the best 3 point shooter in the NBA.

    Steve Novak.

I actually agree with your reasoning. So all the super stars are great scorers, having a bunch of great scorers on a team isn't the recipe for sucess. Team USA took 20 3's in the first half alone, why not take someone who specializes in knocking down the long ball, like Korver or Novak? Beatss Westbrook jacking up 3's and bricking all of them.

I'd like to see my favorite American players play so...

    Rondo/Rose/Lawson
    Hayward/Lawson/Monta
    Durant/Gordon/Korver
    Love/Cousins
    Hibbert/Monroe
    (my line-up/depth chart)

I would watch, and adore, the crap out of this squad.

    i would go with

PG Lin (born in LA) machado
    SG Martin/ Lamb
    SF parsons/ white
    PF patterson/ jones
    C howard/ sampson

    coach kevin mchale
President of US les alexander Vice President morey
    surgeon general keith jones
    secretary of defense hakeem olajuwon
    white house spokeman clyde drexler

that is all (btw in this scenario we would have to wait until december to trade for howard and we would give up morris (bc i dont like him) dmo, asik (bc they are no american and cant be on the dream team) along with future first round picks and rights to any foreign players who cannot qualify to be on the dream team)

PS i have nothing against foreign players they just cant play for US in the olympics

Because Novak is a tweener guy. Plus, while Novak is a little bit better from 3 point land, I think Korver is better and more versatile in other areas.

I think he'd fit better with the team than Novak.

Novak's only strength is literally only camping out by the 3 point line and hitting open 3's.

Korver can shoot better when coming off a screen or taking other more difficult shots.
