The last two games Griffin seems to be posting up more, shooting less on the 3pt line and more in the paint. In last night's game after Yao left Griffin seemed to establish good position and call for the entry pass (one time Francis seemed to see him but look away and passed elsewhere).

Establishing a low-post threat (whether Yao, Griffin, or anyone else, for that matter) seems to be vital to the team's ball movement and outside shooting... just hope the Rocket's outside shooters continue to recognize and trust that...

I was surprised that Griffin had only 10 points -- he seemed to be everywhere. His pilot light has been lit. Now I hope Steve can stoke his offensive fire. Those close to middle distance shots were deadly. Go Eddie!

Even if he shoots a low percentage, if he continues to rebound and block shots like he has been doing the last couple of games then he is really starting to turn a major corner. That is the Eddie Griffin that we need on a nightly basis.

The beauty of it all is that Griffin CAN score -- and score 20 per game -- while he serves as a defensive key.

Exactlly what I was thinking, our boy EG is in the low post asking for the ball, he's left the 3 point line for a better percetage shoot, awesome. This can only make to Rockets a better team, in there taking some attention from Yao, grabbing offensive rebounds. Throw it down big man, throw it down.

I'm soooooo relieved to see Griff finally have some good games. I knew it would come. The question now is whether it's a good stretch or a new found regularity. It might unfortunately just be another sign of things to come, but I hope not.

    Here's to Eddie!

When KT was traded and EG was given a chance to show his stuff, he did pretty good for 3 games..then went on a six game funk and now for the last 3 games he's on the upswing. He was 0 for 1 on 3's against Denver..but usually takes 3 to 4 three point attempts a game. Eddie , since KT left...
Field Goal Attempts / made POINTS REBOUNDS

EddieG is inconsistent, but the steadying factor in his good games is rebounding..when he hits the boards ..he plays well.

Agree that Eddie had been more aggressive and playing a lot better lately. He need to develop his dribbling skills so he can put the ball on the floor and drive to the basket. I think his offensive game will improve dramatically if he can put the ball on the floor. He also need to develop the hook shot. Right now his offensive game is limited to spot up shooting or turn around jumper from the block.

Yes having a hook shot would make him very dangerous. He is improving and needs to be given the ball in the low post when he has a mismatch or a good chance to score. I would also like to see Francis and Moochie set Eddie for some dunks in the open court. His rebounding has improved which helps the team too.

Yes! I've been very impressed with Eddie the last couple of games. The Kenny Thomas trade is looking better and better, espeically after Posey's game last night.

It seems like Griffin is playing with a lot more confidence - even demanding the ball in the post on occasion. I think this is the beginning for Eddie, and it won't be long before he proves he was the best player in the 2001 draft, and all the "damn-we-should-have-kept-Jefferson" people will be eating crow.

Yeah i hope he is better then Jefferson. I think that would be a lot of pressure for him getting traded for 3 other players that were taken in the first round.

Now we just need Nachabar a couple minutes here and there and I will be happy.

I love Eddie. I admit I was hoping he'd have a stronger start to the season, but really all that matters to me is how he's playing at the end of the year. Especially for younger guys it seems pivotal to their confidence level going into their 3rd season.

The Rockets organization did not expect to be in the lottery last year and there's no way anyone could have seen Yao Ming coming.

People forget how CD and Rudy really put the future of this organization on the line when they dealt for this kid. And I haven't seen anything to suggest they're remotely disappointed in him. If Yao wasn't around he'd be a lot more under the microscope and it's a blessing he's not.

As the Rocket's team play improves it will help Eddie immensely. I kind of expected the Rockets to be where they are now, but we're still so far away from where we could be. We play so much better when Steve and Cat aren't carrying the team. They're making strides, but if we end up as 7th seed we'll be lucky not to get swept.

With the almost inevitable improved play of Eddie and Yao next year this team will change, not necessarily personnel, but I wouldn't rule that out either. I've been listening to Gene Peterson on audio pass the last several games and you can tell he's flat out disgusted with our guard play. Some really stinging criticism coming from a Rocket's employee.

Since I haven't seen the last few games it's been difficult for me to evaluate Eddie's recent play, but I have noticed him turning up big late in games with plays that don't reflect in the boxscore. That, I've taken as a really positive sign.
