[rquoter]Ken Berger of CBSSports.com reports that the Rockets have signed C Omer Asik to a three-year, $25.1 million offer sheet as previously agreed to during the moratorium period.

Berger reports that the deal is another "poison pill" contract structured the same way as the Rockets' offer sheet to Jeremy Lin, in which the third year of the contract will pay Asik $14.9 million, in an effort to convince the Bulls not to match. Berger reports that the offer sheet has been signed by Asik but not delivered to the Bulls as of yet. Once the Bulls receive the offer sheet, they'll have 48 hours to match.

It's as yet unclear whether they intend to match the offer or not.

It's still kind of bizarre that the Rockets have given all this money to Asik when every indication is that they will pursue Dwight Howard in a trade. Do you really want to throw that kind of offer sheet with Howard's max contract the long-term goal? But then, if they don't get Howard, the Rockets will at least have a top-level defensive center, even if his offense provides next to nothing.[/rquoter]

Still no report from Fegein or Woj. I'm pretty sure they will report it as soon as it actually goes down.

Yeah, that's wrong. 72 hours from whenever they receive it. (Not these games again!)

i have a feeling the Bulls would not even have matched 5M, 5M, and 9M like Lin's rumored old deal.

After looking at Asik's highlight video, I noticed that the opposing players would move away from him when he goes up to dunk. It seems as though pulling up his knees when he dunks accomplishes a couple of things: 1)It prevents opposing players (or at least makes them think twice) from blocking him & 2)It reduces his risk of injury by creating space for himself to land by clearing out other players.

    & This...

What is the talk of increasing their offer?

They didn't increase Asik's offer. It is the same 3 year $25.1 deal they agreed to a couple of weeks ago.

You can think about it a little harder or not. I'm sorry but I found your replies very disappointing. I guess I'm done here.

Guessing 3-day clock for Omer match, er, or no match will start SAT since Bulls haven't seen offer sheet as of tonight.

Still same deal from a few weeks ago.... hopefully once all this settles we can figure out what is going on with the whole dwight to houston deal..... if all our CF speculation is correct that orlando is holding off on the Lin and Asik deals....

I don't remember where but I've many posts about Morey assuming these deals would have gone through. I don't see this holding it up , it just Orlando

Even if we assumed they'd go through, the order matters. If we made a deal with Orlando today, we wouldn't have the cap space to sign Asik. That's why we are hoping Orlando is just waiting for Asik to sign.
