I completely agree. In the 1 SL game he played it was like a man playing with boys. He has made progress on his shot and his strength. And he will have potential until he stops improving.

The Rox have the best assets and can beat any other offer. We are motivated to make the trade so we will give up a lot. Montiejunas seems like a fan sell-able 'center piece' for Orlando. With Dwight and keeping Jones, losing Dmo would be a bad pain we could live with.

(just trying to think rationally like an armchair GM, I really want Dmo)

And the August time frame splits the hurry up and season start. Morey may let them stew though. If Dwight's not even practicing there is no hurry. Lin is probably moving season tickets on his own right now.

You guyz are hilarious really... We are talking about D. Howard!!! drama queen or not is a top 5 player in this freakin league and your saying id rather go with the rooks now that we watched a week of SL action.

During draft day 95% of Clutchfans wanted to trade all ours picks for howard, before they became names...now look at the state of you posters

I dont care who is put into this trade because if we get howard i dont give 2 ****s...i trust morey knows how to do his job sleeping better than anyone here so just wait and see...

Agreed on the Rockets having the best offer regardless, so long as the following remain true:

    (1) Andrew Bynum gives Orlando no indication that he's interested in re-signing with the Magic next summer; and

    (2) The Cavs continue to insist that they're not trading Dion Waiters.

Bynum and Waiters are LITERALLY the one two players being discussed that could even arguably be better than some of the players with which the Rockets would be willing to part. Maybe Tristan Thompson as well, but the Cavs are also resistant to trading him.

However, I don't buy the talk on this BBS about either the Rockets or the Magic needing to "hurry up" to get any sort of deal done. This is DWIGHT FREAKING HOWARD we're talking about. Morey will stay at the table as long as it takes if it would increase his chances of getting Howard even one iota.

Same with Hennigan, in that he'll take however damn long he feels like to maximize his return on Howard. The Brooklyn ship has sailed; and there's really nothing that the Lakers or Rockets are planning on doing in the next few weeks that would otherwise kill a Dwight trade or make it harder to consummate than it already is.

Bottom line: Neither the Rockets nor the Magic should be feeling any pressure to hurry up a Dwight trade until September. Now, I certainly think/hope a trade will happen before then. But the pressure to do so is purely artificial.

Well, the good news is he doesn't have anything personal against us.
His agent has come out and said he wont sign an extension with anybody.

If there were almost no chance he'd bolt, I'd agree with you, but i actually think it's a coin-flip at best, and i'd rather not deal with the circus. Other than Martin (who will be gone by the deadline), the oldest player on our roster is Asik, who is 26. We are not close to contending, we are rebuilding. I just don't see Dwight being happy on a rebuilding team. At least a guy like Bynum is younger and can grown and develop with the rest of the team.

Thought the same thing. This is gonna continue to play out, no rush, no hurry, we'll all continue to wait(unfortunately, ha). The Magic can take this up to training camp or dare I say, the trade deadline.

How so? Dwight's value keeps dropping if his camp keeps re-iterating that he's a rental. Wouldn't they take the best deal now before getting lowballed even more?

I agree with this. If we are a HORRIBLE team this year and our draft pick is looking like it could be top 3 by the deadline, we wouldn't trade with them. I would think they want to make this trade before the season starts or they will be left with their you know what in their hand.

They definitely can take it up to TC if they want to. Why take a bad deal? A bad deal is better than no deal? Sure, it would probably make sense to take the best deal now before getting low-balled, but perhaps they already feel like they're getting low-balled now.

I think Marcus Morris is holding up this deal. Orlando prolly wants him but Morey reluctant

Marcus 'Carmelo Anthony/Paul Pierce' Morris holding up a Dwight Howard deal?!

    You're probably right.

Ha, not. Marcus Morris isn't holding up this deal. Morey would throw him in and not hesitate.

No one knows the hold up or what's going on.

Asik is holding this up! Right?!
    No Morris!

    ...

Sure, Houston can beat 'this offer' and 'that offer', but how much is Houston willing or going to throw in? Yeah, Houston has a wide arrange of assets to play with but they aren't throwing everything in.

Could you sketch out how that would work, i.e. players, picks, contracts

Serious? Morris wouldn't be a sticking point to a deal.
