    It's the media bro.

EVERYONE wanted Lin to be matched and the Rockets trumped so he could stay in the 'center' of the basketball world for them NY.

Now EVERYONE in the media would love for Howard to end up in Hollywood and again the Rockets be shut down out of acquiring 2 players who in their 'eyes' deserve to be in those highlight type of cities.

Someone needs to help them. The media can only call for it, but we are dealing with real people, real salaries, and true rebuilding with Orlando.

The only problem with there little plan is the only way D12 gets to the lakers is if we help him get there. The Gasol conciliation prize is not going to cut it this time.

Actually, did you see the recent chron piece that quoted Les as saying:

    http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2012/07/after-landing-lin-rockets-owner-alexander-hopes-for-one-more-marquee-move/

That indicated to me that Les was impressed enough at the summer league showing to start really valuing the 4 rookies.

I'll take the young guys who's egos are in check and love the rockets and want to make them competitive...Howard don't want to have to work to get a ring...I'm gonna call most of the superstars lazy now days...they don't want to work hard to earn it for themselves, they want 2 other stars with them so they can coast...it would be more rewarding for rockets fans to build a championship team from their draft and development than to assemble an all star team from lazy stars...we still got a ways to go and I am not saying I wouldn't mind picking up a star (with the right attitude) but I have no problem with seeing what we actually have as a team before we are blasted on tv for giving up a future star for a rental

This was started by Lebron by going to Miami to be with Dwade and Bosh. However I think he went to really just be with Dwade and Bosh was riding coat tails, as in LBJ and Dwade had it in the works and Bosh jumped in after the fact despite how it played out.

That being said I believe LBJ had valid reasoning, he had already put Cleveland on his back and gotten to the finals but management there never brought in valid help for him. They were content to bring in aging guys and overpay and try to stop gap Lebron leaving. This is partly what happened with Dwight except I don't see their finals run as being a result of Dwight dominating at all. And the way he is acting (straight up hoe-ish) about getting out is pathetic. If he wants to control where he goes, play out his contract and shut up. He had an early out but he felt guilty and opted to stay and is moaning yet again. Like something in Orlando changed in six months.

And now this with I don't wanna go here or there. Kornheiser is right. I am sick of this crap. If he comes fine. If he commits even better, but I won't hold my breath. If Houston runs out a team full or rookies with Lin, Asik and Martin I am fine with that. Just get this over with.

I'm not too upset about this dwightmare. Our last franchise center use to own his arse. Dwight to me is just a hyped up kevin willis. Roll with the youngins! Add the missing piece next year.

Lol I was reaching. But his offensive game sucks like that stiff mister baby hook. He's phenomenal everywhere else.

Some of those in agreement with this think we are going to be instantly good. Have overhyped expectations. See Astros.

If you are looking down the road, like several years down the road, then yes. These young guys (should we retain them) could very possibly become a core worthy of praise.

Summer league play isnt telling at all when it comes how these guys are going to handle the regular season against NBA teams.

Damn I just thought. I been calling for Morey's head. But we might be entering a situation where Howard wants to go to LA but Orlando doesn't want to trade for him without Bynum signing long term. They may need a third team to facilitate. We might get a re-signed Bynum for all of our picks and still get to keep our rookies. The kicker is Orlando may wind up begging Morey to take this deal........

What about the theory that he thought he was going to wind up in Houston if he didn't stay another year, and that is why he did it...? If that's true it's really hard for me to get excited about him... no matter how good he is.

We are doing the opposite of what the Astros did if we stick with our youth. The Astros ruined their farm system by trading away all their talent and trying to stay competitive when it was clear that their time had passed. The Astros still don't have any great young talent because of the huge hole they dug themselves into by either trading it away or not signing their picks.
