leaders emerge naturally and you can't force leadership on teammates. a leader or leaders will emerge on the court and off the court. we will see who that is in the upcoming season.
How many team captains have been traded since Morey took over? Isn't it the Rockets version of being the drummer in Spinal Tap?
Definitely Martin if he is around. Which is really really unlikely. It is funny that the most tradeable player on our roster was Martin. Now he is the only one left.
Kevin Martin is the only vet with more then two years experience, guaranteed on our roster unless traded. I don't know how you can anyone else but him.
If you picked Kevin Martin...why? Because he's the veteran on our team? Because he's been here the longest? All these reasons are stupid when you consider his actions and attitude at the end of last season. He is an absolute terrible choice.
chandler, definitely chandler. he may not be the best on the team. but he definitely is one of my favorite Rockets because of his great attitude, hard work ethic, and his personality. not to mention he did the tea bag on javale mcgee. TEAM CAPTAIN!
i just hope we can get a veteran. and when i say veteran, im taking like 5+ years experience and someone who just knows the game. this is a very inexperienced bunch right now, and although i love this team, we're going to need some veteran leadership to steer this team towards contention. Kmart is just not the kind of veteran I'm looking for. the guy's attitude last year was not that of a leader. i'm sorry. give me somebody else.
What other option is there? A sophomore player, a 3rd year man with less actual starting games then a sophmore or one of our rookies? Most likely the coaches will have them battle it out in training camp but to start things off, I can't see anyone beating out Martin in experience or playing ability unless Lin or one of our rookies make breakthroughs over the summer. Maybe Patterson because of his defense but even he had problems he was disciplined for last season.
I think Kevin Martin will be the most talented and experienced player on the roster come training camp, and I think he may step up as a leader. He's no Tebow, but I think the players like and look up to him more then we believe. It also seems like Parsons is trying pretty hard to be the new leader, maybe a little too hard. Patterson grew up in a military family, and is pretty mature so he could be one of the veterans and leaders for the older guys. Lin is the most Tebow-like player on our team, I just hope his teammates don't begin to resent his publicity and him getting all of the credit.
Please explain his attitude problems? Have we all decided he's a terrible person because he was smirking on the sideline towards the end of a loss? I mean come on guys, we see people tell jokes at a funeral and don't think any of it, that instance with Martin was blown out of proportion. Martin isn't known from a recruiting stand point to have an attitude problem, and doesn't say anything wrong to the media.
Can somebody who claims Kevin Martin has attitude issues explain those? It's not like we're in the locker room with him, and from what I've seen nothing has shown problems either.
