Man i love CD but damn i forget how he used to put the rockets in long term deals with no flexability...

    Maloney
    Cato
    Mo Taylor
    Moochie

Also to answer your question...Asik is getting more per year....but its a shorter deal which is very important.

Asik has to get a spike up in money the last year of the deal to pry him loose. Little different scenario with his yearly amount.

Though yeah committing to Cato for 6 years for ANYTHING << Omer Asik deal

actually, relatively light pressure with a lacrosse ball over a long period of time can open up fascial restrictions and dramatically improve hand function.

weight lifting tends to constrict the connective tissues of the hand and forearm and turn the hands more brickish. this fascial restriction also hurts shooting (i fear this for lamb as he tries to bulk up).

Uh, do you also know Camby is 38 with decades of bball exp under his belt? Obviously his averaged numbers will look good, vets like him are supposed to play at a high level for a short period of time. Extrapolating numbers come with the assumption that he can play more mins, Asik can do that, Camby will probably break down if you had him play 36 mins a game.

Look at Manu GInobili's stats last season and extrapolate them to 40 mins a game. Are you then gonna go ahead and tell me that MG is a top 3 sg in the league?

Someone might have already addressed this but any way the Rocket's reduce their offer to Asik knowing the Bulls are not going to match? Or are they bound to the number in the offer agreed to previously?

Agree, reducing the verbal agreement could mean Asik won't sign and get pissed.

We didn't really increase Lin; we just fully guaranteed the 3rd year, right?

Technically, they are not bound by anything until the offer sheet in writing is signed. Remember, the July moratorium forbids anything being signed, officially.

For the offer to be lowered don't the two parties have to agree to it? Why will Asik agree to lower his contract?

Also, even if this was just a verbal agreement, lowering your offer just because the other party wouldn't match it is like suicide, which agent/player will negotiate with you after this? Not to mention lawsuits from the player union? Not to mention what will prevent the Bulls from changing their mind and matching if you lower your offer?

When you put it that way...WTF was CD smoking??? of course the cap went up and all but on average Cato was essentially 23% of the rockets cap space in 99.

I think if you get Asik and Montiejuns in the gym with Coach McHale there will be a competition to see who can learn more tricky s*** the fastest

Could be a sharp learning curve.

Wow, that's nuts. That's why I laugh when people get mad at Morey & say "Bring back CD!"

I didn't say they could both play 36 minute per game. Just the easiest way to compare their numbers. Camby played more minutes than Asik. I don't know what else to tell you.

I answered who was better last year. Camby is the answer. Nobody reads anymore.
