He stepped up his play the past few games. Had steal totals of 4, 3, and 3 over the last 3 games. He has really looked more comfortable passing the ball in the last few games. Could probably be our 3rd PG but we have Lin, Douglas, Livingston. I want Douglas because of his defense. Would you take Machado over Livingston?

I say Livingston and machado. Douglas is a score first mentality point guard with mediocre scoring ability, get rid of him!

I don't think that machado is ready just yet. I still take livingston because he is proven to be a confident point guard that can hang in the NBA game. I say try Machado but keep Livingston as a fall back for that third string spot. Plus livingston has the size to play a two.

Have to say, i wasn't that impressed through 3 games, but he def. stepped it up in games 4 & 5. You kind of have to throw out the first two games anyway, in a situation like this. Players are way too jittery. They aren't comfortable with eachother or their roles early on. It's games 3, 4 and 5 where you can really tell what a player is. Biggest sign for me that Machado might have a future, is the 4 steals he had the other night. I think he makes the team.

i thought machado was horrible... didnt look fluid, looked like he was trying to force things. Rarely took shots even when he should have but instead looked to make the pass. Royce White is a better point guard than Machado and has better court awareness.

unless Machado starts putting up some shots and sinking it and driving to the lane and able to finish, the guards in the NBA will just guard him 1-on-1 with no fear of him scoring and knowing he will look to pass

I'm pulling for him to make the team.He showed tremendous improvement during SL. He seems to learn quickly and is adjusting well, gotta take into consideration the huge jump in talent he is playing against .Going from Iona to basically an all star league with 2nd year NBA guys is a huge jump.

Looks like we might stay young, should just roll with the guy this season and see if he develops into a nice #2.

Usually this thread is created when a player is being shipped off. Im not sure Machado is at the point of his career with the Rockets where he should be either Appreciated, or Depreciated. He's an interesting prospect to bring into training camp as a backup PG. Nothing more, nothing less. Anyone who claims he is anything they are sure about is shooting in the dark.

Yea that's why I said if we stay young I wouldn't mind giving the guy a shot.Losing games would be ok but Fortson would be absolute torture to watch.

You can actually see Machado improve but Fortson is playing the exact same way he was when we saw him last year.

We need to give this kid a shot, his baseline skills are pretty damn good and he'll only improve. Apparently Knicks boards are hyping him up and wanting him to be signed so it'll be some sort of revenge signing.

Count me in as a Machado supporter. I thought his growth during SL was evident, and he seems to mesh really well with our key SL guys.

No way, Livingston and Douglas are much better than him. His defense is suspect, his speed is slow, and his shot is awful...

At least douglas can hit 3 pters.
