Again, the Celtics aren't under the cap. Stiemsma is a free agent. Wants to go to Minnesota according to reports.

The Celtics are a good option in a sign-and-trade for Lee because they have some non-guaranteed contracts, as well as some nice draft picks to offer.

Any sign-and-trade with the Celtics for Lee would likely involve Dooling, the non-guaranteed contracts of E. Moore, S. Williams and some sort of draft considerations.

The Celtics are hoping to negotiate a sign-and-trade with the Mavericks for Jason Terry, which would free up their full mid-level exception for Courtney Lee.
The problem is that Dallas has no incentive to help Boston, and would likely require "a combination of young assets such as JaJuan Johnson, [E'Twaun] Moore, or perhaps Mickael Pietrus or Keyon Dooling." Lee has indicated that he's interested in signing with the Celtics, but not at the salary they can currently afford.

Suns linked w/Mayo & Courntey Lee after Gordon offer sheet matched but I'm told they're also still pursuing Shannon Brown to stay in PHX

After seeing what Morey did with the Camby deal, I cannot wait to see what he does witht a Lee sign and trade. I keep wondering if the Lack of action with Lee is any indication he may be waiting to see if his buddy DH12 ends up in Houston where we hold his bird rights or if Morey tries to work a double sign in trade with Chicago where we get Asik and Lee goes there with Asik sliding into the Lee cap hold.

If they get Lee, might as well call them the Phoenix Rockets.

So, lee could go...Suns, Celtics or bulls in a sign an trade for asik? Im sure we can get a good deal for him. Hope nobody like the Twolves clears cap space and out right signs him.

Obviously Lee is going to Phoenix so they can combine our two rosters from last year to make the Ultimate 9 Seed.

Why are we not trying to resign Lee?

I mean if we trade for Dwight it would be nice to have his buddy on the roster to play with at least.

Especially if we lose Lamb in a Dwight trade.

Bulls CANNOT sign-and-trade Asik for as much as the Rockets and he have already agreed on. Since I doubt he'd leave several million dollars on the table, I seriously doubt that any such deal happens.

Plus, the Base Year Compensation issues on Chicago's side would be a nightmare.

Agreed that the Rockets and Lee may be keeping this open as an option.

Are there any assets we can get from Phoenix for lee. The lakers picks they have aren't worth much.

I just read on ESPN reports that Dwight would sign long term with LA. so that's that. meaning we could probably get bynum and keep our youngsters. if we get 1st pick for Celtics that would help a lot.

yea I guess now that Dwight is ready to go there, that Orlando just has to pony up and take whatever poo LA wants to fling over to their irrelevant corner of the planet. Jordan Hill, Devin Ebanks, a 2019 second rounder...take that, Orlando. Like a dog.

I'm going to guess that the Magic will still hold out for a while on this one.

    So Bima,
Sounds like Houston is holding Lee for a posible Dwight pairing, but in the event that he starts publically saying that he will only resign with Brooklyn or LA, and Houston decides to go forward with Plan B (Bynum), do you think we already have a deal worked out with the celtics, suns, bulls, or minny to sign and trade Lee for a draft pick, for inclusion in a Bynum deal?

Rockets have 2 minor league teams in addition to the Vipers now:
    1. Sacramento
    2. Phoenix

Of course at this point, we are the minor league team for Minnesota and Adelman :)

I hope we keep our players though...I'd like Howard, but I don't really want to let go of our 4 main rookies.
